SHINee member Taemin has postponed the North American leg of his 2026–27 “LiMiNaL” world tour, with his team citing uncertainty surrounding U.S. visas and related administrative procedures affecting key touring and production personnel.
The announcement came less than two weeks before the tour was scheduled to begin in San Jose, California, on Oct. 12. The North American leg was originally planned to visit six U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Prairie, Chicago and Newark.
Visa Delays Force Major Tour Change
According to a notice posted through Taemin’s official social media accounts, a significant number of essential staff members were still waiting for their U.S. visas, with no clear timeline for when the documents would be issued.
Taemin’s team said moving forward under those circumstances would create substantial operational and production risks, prompting the decision to postpone the scheduled North American dates.
The announcement does not mean the North American shows have been permanently canceled. The team said it is working on a new itinerary, with replacement dates and venues to be announced later.
Fans who purchased tickets can request refunds through their original point of purchase, according to the announcement.
Six U.S. Shows Put on Hold
The postponed itinerary had Taemin performing across six cities beginning with SAP Center in San Jose on Oct. 12, followed by Los Angeles on Oct. 15, Las Vegas on Oct. 16, Grand Prairie on Oct. 19, Chicago on Oct. 21 and Newark on Oct. 23.
The North American concerts followed Taemin’s three-night Seoul run at Jamsil Indoor Stadium from Sept. 18 to 20, which launched the latest world-tour era.
The broader “LiMiNaL” tour also includes dates in Latin America and Europe. Taemin’s official tour site currently lists upcoming performances in Mexico, Chile, Peru, Brazil and several European cities, although the status of individual dates can change as the itinerary is updated.
A Major Setback for Taemin’s Global Tour
The postponement comes during a major international period for Taemin. Earlier this year, he became the first Korean male solo artist to perform at Coachella, followed by other international festival appearances before the launch of his new world tour.
The U.S. Department of State has also announced expanded screening and vetting procedures for certain nonimmigrant visa categories beginning Oct. 1, although Taemin’s team did not attribute the tour postponement to that specific policy.
For now, the immediate issue is logistical: key members of Taemin’s touring and production team do not yet have the required U.S. visas, leaving the North American schedule uncertain.
With new dates and venues still being arranged, Taemin’s U.S. comeback is now on hold — leaving fans waiting for the next announcement that could reshape the tour.
