Two Teens Rescued After Getting Stranded on Yishun Flat Parapet

Two teenagers were rescued after becoming stranded on a parapet outside a Yishun flat while attempting to enter the unit through a window on Sept. 28.

The pair had reportedly locked themselves out of the flat and tried to get inside through the window. Their attempt left them stuck on the narrow exterior ledge, prompting a rescue operation.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident and sent rescuers to the HDB block. The teenagers were subsequently brought to safety.

The incident highlights the risks of attempting to access an upper-floor home through windows or other exterior areas, where a misstep could result in a serious fall.

Authorities have repeatedly urged members of the public to avoid dangerous improvisations during emergencies and to seek assistance when they are unable to safely access their homes.
