Singapore’s LUNA Patisserie to Close by Year-End Amid Rising Costs

Homegrown Singapore patisserie LUNA will close its doors on Dec. 31, 2026, ending six years of operations as the brand faces rising operating and ingredient costs.

The patisserie announced the decision on Sept. 28, describing the closure as a difficult choice after years of building the brand around cakes, celebrations and memorable moments.

LUNA said increasing costs have made it increasingly difficult to operate the business sustainably. The brand also said it had been unable to find a suitable physical space that would allow it to expand while maintaining the identity and experience it wanted for customers.

The brand began with its first physical outlet on Amoy Street in 2020 before leaving the location in 2025. It later became primarily an online business, while its cakes and tarts were also sold through Lucine by LUNA at 111 Somerset.

Before closing, LUNA plans to bring back some of its classic creations and crowd favourites, giving customers an opportunity to enjoy popular items one more time. The brand is also inviting potential buyers or operators who may be interested in taking over and carrying the LUNA name forward.

Customers will be able to purchase LUNA cakes online until Dec. 31, with its products also available at Lucine by LUNA until the closure date. Lucine will continue operating independently.

The closure comes as Singapore’s food and beverage sector continues to face pressure from higher operating expenses and ingredient costs. For LUNA, the decision marks the end of a six-year chapter, but the brand has left open the possibility that its name and creations could continue under a future operator.
