Ganarul Brigade Strengthens Readiness Through Full Inventory and Equipment Inspection

The 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade has conducted a comprehensive inventory and inspection of its equipment and facilities in Sulu as part of efforts to strengthen accountability, improve resource management and maintain operational readiness.

The wall-to-wall inspection was held on September 28 at the brigade headquarters in Camp AKA, Barangay Bual, Luuk, Sulu. Personnel physically verified accountable properties and equipment against existing records while also checking their condition and serviceability.

The inspection also covered brigade facilities, with personnel identifying deficiencies that may require corrective action or improvements. The activity was conducted by personnel from the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics of the 11th Infantry Division, led by Capt. Rex Edward Cloma, chief of the Administrative Branch, together with representatives from the 11th Signal Battalion and concerned brigade personnel. 

Brig. Gen. Alaric Avelino Delos Santos, commander of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade, led brigade officials in supporting the inspection. Other officials involved included Col. Alex Gagula, deputy brigade commander; Lt. Col. Rolando Granados, executive officer; Capt. Jerson Carullo, acting logistics officer; and other officers responsible for logistics, civil-military operations and communications.

The brigade said the inspection was also intended to reinforce proper maintenance practices and responsible management of government resources in line with Philippine Army policies and regulations.

Delos Santos said that developing a capable and responsive brigade requires more than operational skills. He emphasized the importance of disciplined resource management, organized systems and strict accountability in maintaining the unit’s overall readiness.

The inspection comes after the brigade received a 98.04% rating in its 2026 Annual General Inspection, the highest among the 14 units evaluated under the 11th Infantry Division. The rating covered unit performance during the first through fourth quarters of 2025.

The brigade has also been involved in peace and security efforts in Sulu, including activities supporting the province’s transition toward safer and more stable communities. In June, the 1102nd Infantry Brigade marked its seventh anniversary with the declaration of Sulu’s second district as a Rido-Free, Gun-Free and Peace-Centered Community and the ceremonial turnover of 186 recovered firearms.

Following the latest inspection, the brigade said it will continue improving its personnel, equipment, facilities and organizational systems as it works toward maintaining a multi-mission-ready ground force capable of responding to changing security requirements in Sulu.

The initiative highlights the role of regular inspections and accurate property accountability in military preparedness, ensuring that equipment and facilities remain properly maintained and available when needed.
