Filipinos have long had a love affair with anghang—from sili-packed sawsawan and spicy noodles to comfort food given an extra kick. Now, Sprite is tapping into that distinctly Filipino food culture with a limited-time collaboration that puts spicy dishes and an ice-cold lemon-lime drink at the center of the experience.
Under its “Yan Ang Refreshing” campaign, Sprite has teamed up with Your Local in Legazpi Village, Makati, for a limited-edition Sprite x Spicy menu designed around the contrast between bold Filipino-inspired flavors and Sprite’s crisp, citrusy character. The collaboration is available every weekend from August 29 to September 27, 2026.
Rather than simply serving Sprite alongside spicy food, the collaboration explores how the drink can become part of the overall flavor experience.
A Filipino-inspired menu with a spicy twist
Created with Chef Pat Go of Your Local, the limited-time menu features four savory dishes that combine familiar Filipino flavors with heat.
The lineup includes Spiced Salted Egg Hummus, pairing creamy salted egg with lingering spice and toasted sourdough; Spicy Beef Lechon Toast, which combines charred beef lechon, spicy aioli and toasted mantou; Sili-Mansi Udon, featuring noodles tossed with calamansi, sweet soy, sili and topped with crunchy chicharon; and Chicken Hoy, crispy fried chicken glazed with spicy black garlic adobo sauce and served with garlic confit and java rice.
The Sili-Mansi Udon is particularly notable for its combination of sweetness, acidity, savoriness and heat. Food publication Delish Philippines described it as the spiciest item in the collaboration and highlighted how calamansi and chicharon add contrasting flavors and textures to the dish.
The Spicy Beef Lechon Toast, meanwhile, draws inspiration from the Filipino-Chinese siopao, with tender beef lechon and spicy aioli placed over toasted mantou.
Sprite becomes part of the pairing
The collaboration also features four Sprite-based creations: Sprite + Earl Grey Tea, Sprite + Matcha, Sprite + Lychee, and Sprite + Spicy Mango, giving diners different ways to pair the drink’s lemon-lime profile with savory and spicy flavors.
The idea fits Sprite’s broader global strategy around spicy food. Coca-Cola has positioned Sprite as a pairing for spicy eating occasions, describing carbonation and its citrus profile as part of the brand’s approach to the growing popularity of spicy food among younger consumers.
In the Philippines, that strategy has been localized through the “Yan Ang Refreshing” campaign, which connects Sprite with the country’s food culture and the popularity of spicy flavors. Adobo Magazine reported that the campaign is intended to make Sprite part of how Filipinos experience spicy food rather than simply positioning it as a drink consumed alongside a meal.
Why Your Local?
The partnership also gives the campaign a distinctly Filipino culinary setting.
Your Local is included in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Manila & Environs–Cebu Bib Gourmand selection, one of 25 restaurants recognized in the Philippines for offering quality food at moderate prices. Michelin describes Your Local as serving easy-going, wallet-friendly gastronomy with dishes suited for sharing.
That makes the collaboration more than a conventional beverage promotion: it brings a global soft-drink brand into a restaurant setting known for contemporary interpretations of Asian and Filipino flavors.
A celebration of Filipino spice culture
The Sprite x Your Local collaboration reflects a broader trend in which spicy food has become increasingly tied to social dining, food challenges and youth-oriented food culture.
Adobo Magazine noted that Sprite has specifically identified younger consumers’ interest in spicy food—including viral spicy-noodle challenges—as one reason for focusing its campaign on heat.
The global Sprite platform is following a similar direction, with Coca-Cola announcing partnerships and activations centered on spicy food as part of its broader “It’s That Fresh” strategy.
For Filipino diners, however, the concept taps into something much more familiar: the habit of adding sili, chili oil or spicy sauces to an already-loved dish.
And that’s where the “Yan Ang Refreshing” message comes in—pairing the heat Filipinos already enjoy with a cold, fizzy citrus drink.
The Sprite x Your Local spicy menu runs every weekend through September 27, 2026, at Your Local in Legazpi Village, Makati.
