Caltex has raised its posted petrol prices by 5 cents per litre across its 92-, 95- and platinum-98 grades, following a similar increase by Shell earlier on Sept. 29. Diesel prices at both companies remained unchanged.
The latest adjustment means Caltex’s posted prices are S$3.51 per litre for 92-octane, S$3.54 for 95-octane and S$4.24 for premium petrol. Its diesel price remains at S$4.07 per litre. The figures are before discounts.
Across Singapore, 95-octane petrol now ranges from S$2.54 per litre at Cnergy to S$3.54 at Caltex and Shell. Esso’s 95-octane petrol is priced at S$3.49, while Sinopec and SPC list it at S$3.49 and S$3.48 respectively.
The increases come after a period of relative stability and several rounds of fuel-price adjustments earlier in September. Major retailers had already pushed diesel prices above S$4 per litre during the month as global energy markets reacted to the conflict in the Middle East.
Oil markets have remained volatile. Brent crude briefly climbed to US$106.99 a barrel on Sept. 29 before settling at US$102.59, with concerns over Middle East supply disruptions continuing to influence energy prices and inflation expectations.
Despite the latest petrol increases, crude exports from the region have shown signs of recovery. Reuters reported that Middle East crude exports reached their highest level since the conflict began in February, while additional supply flows helped push Brent lower on the day.
As of the morning of Sept. 30, Esso, Sinopec and SPC had not posted corresponding changes to their pump prices, leaving motorists to compare rates across fuel companies as the market continues to respond to developments in global oil supply.
