Miss Supranational 2026 Katrina Llegado’s much-anticipated victory celebration has been pushed to September 19, following weather-related disruptions that affected the queen’s scheduled homecoming activities.
The latest postponement comes after previous changes to the celebration schedule as unfavorable weather conditions disrupted plans for the Filipina beauty queen’s public victory festivities. The development was reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Despite the delays, the celebration will give Filipino pageant fans another opportunity to welcome and honor Llegado, who made history by bringing the Miss Supranational crown back to the Philippines for the second time.
Llegado won the international title during the Miss Supranational 2026 coronation in Nowy Sącz, Poland, on July 31, defeating 66 other candidates. She succeeded Brazil’s Eduarda Braum and became only the second Filipina to win the title after Mutya Datul’s historic victory in 2013.
Her victory ended a 13-year wait for another Filipina Miss Supranational winner. The Philippine Star reported that Llegado advanced through the competition with strong performances in the national costume, swimsuit, evening gown and semifinal rounds before taking the crown.
A Homecoming That Has Already Faced Weather Delays
The celebration has already experienced scheduling changes because of bad weather.
An earlier Supra Victory Parade scheduled for August 29 was postponed after a red rainfall warning associated with the southwest monsoon, or habagat. A new schedule was subsequently announced for September 5, with activities planned in Pasay and Taguig.
ABS-CBN likewise reported the September 5 homecoming schedule after the original celebration was moved because of inclement weather.
The latest announcement means pageant fans will have to wait again for the larger celebration.
Katrina’s Philippine Homecoming Was More Than a Victory Parade
Even with changes to the festivities, Llegado’s return to the Philippines included a packed series of activities.
During her homecoming, she and Mister Supranational 2026 Pedro Cordero met with government officials, appeared in media engagements and participated in community-oriented activities.
GMA Entertainment reported that Llegado visited Taguig City Hall, following meetings at the House of Representatives and the Department of Tourism. She and Cordero also helped repack relief goods at the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
The Miss Philippines organization described the relief-goods activity as part of the titleholders’ effort to be present and involved during their Philippine visit.
The Crown That Put the Philippines Back on the Supranational Map
Llegado’s victory has generated considerable attention among Philippine pageant fans because it restored the country’s presence at the top of the Miss Supranational competition after more than a decade.
During the final question-and-answer segment, she was asked about the moment she stopped trying to become the woman the world expected and instead became the woman she was meant to be.
Her response centered on embracing imperfection, rejecting molds and continuing to become the best version of herself.
She ultimately defeated France’s Eve Gilles, who finished first runner-up, while Brazil’s Lara Marina, Nigeria’s Ndah Eno and the Czech Republic’s Karolina Gorylova completed the Top 5.
For now, Filipino pageant fans have another date to mark on their calendars: September 19, when the delayed celebration of Katrina Llegado’s historic Miss Supranational 2026 victory is expected to take place.
After weeks of waiting and weather-related changes, the question now is whether the latest date will finally give the reigning queen the grand Philippine celebration her historic win deserves.
