Singaporean actors Hong Ling and Nick Teo are expecting their first child, sharing the pregnancy news nearly a year after they revealed they had suffered a miscarriage.
The couple announced the happy news on Sept. 22 through an Instagram video featuring their three cats, Zhaocai, Jinbao and Eve. After introducing their pets, Hong and Nick revealed ultrasound images and announced that their family would soon welcome another member.
“Our family is finally growing by one little member,” the couple wrote, describing the baby as “a gift from God” and adding: “Baby Teo coming soon.”
The couple also shared footage showing the moment they discovered the pregnancy several months ago. Hong took a pregnancy test while the pair were at an airport, with the result showing “Pregnant, 1-2 weeks”. Nick, who was waiting outside, later admitted that he was extremely nervous before the result was revealed.
Hong later told Lianhe Zaobao that she first suspected she was pregnant while the couple were filming in Vietnam after her period was delayed. They bought a pregnancy test there and took another test after returning to Singapore. According to The Straits Times, Hong is about three months pregnant and the baby is due in 2027.
The announcement carries particular significance for the couple because Hong previously revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage in February 2025. She was around 11 weeks pregnant when she experienced bleeding and was told by a doctor that the foetus no longer had a heartbeat.
At the time, Hong said the couple had needed time to process the loss before speaking publicly about it. She also encouraged others who had experienced miscarriage to know that they were not alone.
Hong and Nick married in December 2023. They are currently appearing together in the local crime drama In His Hands, which airs on Channel 8 and is available on mewatch.
For the couple, the pregnancy marks a new chapter after a difficult period of loss and comes with both excitement and anticipation as they prepare to become parents for the first time.
