A man believed to be in his 30s has died after falling from a moving escalator at Terminal 21 shopping centre near Bangkok’s busy Asok intersection, in a late-night incident that is now under investigation by police.
The incident happened on Monday night, August 31, 2026, at approximately 9:48–9:50 p.m. Emergency responders were called after reports that a man had fallen from the fourth-floor area of the shopping centre.
What happened at Terminal 21 Asok
According to reports from witnesses, the man was travelling alone on an escalator descending from the fourth-floor area when he suddenly grabbed the escalator handrail and fell from the side.
He landed at the ground-floor level and suffered critical injuries. Responders found him unconscious and not breathing, with reports indicating multiple fractures and severe trauma.
Despite emergency assistance, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
