MANILA, Philippines — The romance speculation surrounding Kaila Estrada and Daniel Padilla has once again taken social media by storm after Kaila gave fans a closer look at their recent Japan trip.
Kaila recently posted an Instagram carousel featuring moments from her trip to Japan, including several photos with Daniel and their circle of friends. The snaps showed the two spending time together in different settings, including a restaurant, aboard a train and during a picnic at a park.
The post immediately caught the attention of fans, many of whom are wondering whether the actress has finally taken their much-rumored relationship from a private affair to something more visible online.
But there is an important distinction: Kaila has not explicitly confirmed in the post that Daniel is her boyfriend, and neither star has publicly made a direct statement confirming their relationship status. GMA News likewise described the development as raising the question of whether the pair has gone “Instagram official.”
The Japan photos come after months of speculation
The latest Instagram post is not the first time Kaila and Daniel have fueled romance rumors.
In June, Daniel himself posted a carousel on Instagram that included a photo of Kaila sitting in a golf cart. His caption read, “There is no ifs, woulds, coulds, shoulds. Its just is. And we just are.”
The post triggered another wave of speculation, particularly after Kaila commented on it and her half-brother Luigi Muhlach also joined the exchange.
Philstar.com reported that Luigi had previously appeared to hint at the pair’s relationship when he referred to Daniel as “bayaw.” Despite those hints, however, the two actors had not directly confirmed that they were officially a couple.
Daily Tribune similarly reported at the time that Daniel’s Instagram post featuring Kaila fueled speculation about a possible “hard launch,” especially because of the caption accompanying the photo.
Their connection goes back to “Incognito”
Daniel and Kaila’s growing closeness has also been closely followed since they worked together on the action-drama series “Incognito.”
Their onscreen partnership eventually became one of the reasons fans began watching their interactions off-camera more closely. Philstar.com reported that the two became closer in 2025 while working on the series.
Since then, sightings and social-media posts involving the two have repeatedly sparked dating speculation.
Inquirer also previously reported that photos of Daniel and Kaila spending time together resurfaced amid the growing relationship rumors.
Kaila’s family has also been asked about the romance
The speculation has even reached Kaila’s family.
During a May episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Kaila’s mother, actress Janice de Belen, was asked about her daughter’s relationship situation.
Rather than directly confirming the rumored romance, Janice expressed her support for her daughter’s happiness, saying she was happy that Kaila was happy. GMA News cited the remark in its latest report.
That response added another layer to the ongoing speculation without providing the definitive confirmation fans have been waiting for.
Daniel’s past relationship remains part of the public conversation
Daniel was previously in a long-term relationship with actress Kathryn Bernardo. The former couple confirmed their breakup in November 2023 after more than a decade together.
Since then, Daniel’s rumored relationship with Kaila has naturally attracted significant public attention, particularly because the two first became closely associated through their work in “Incognito.”
Still, the latest developments should be viewed carefully.
So, are Kaila Estrada and Daniel Padilla officially together?
The latest photos certainly make the speculation louder—but they are not, by themselves, an official relationship announcement.
What is confirmed is that Kaila and Daniel are comfortable appearing together publicly and on each other’s social-media feeds. What remains unconfirmed is whether they have formally labeled themselves as a couple.
For now, the Japan photos may be the clearest glimpse yet of their growing closeness—but fans may still have to wait for the two stars themselves to finally put a label on it.
And that is precisely what makes this latest Instagram post so interesting: the pictures may be saying more than either of them has actually said out loud.
