SINGAPORE — A 46-year-old auxiliary police officer was taken to hospital after a limousine taxi collided with his motorcycle along Airport Boulevard near Changi Airport on Friday night (Aug. 28).
The accident happened at about 10.40pm, as the road was heading towards Changi Airport Terminal 1, according to a report by AsiaOne citing the Singapore Police Force.
The auxiliary police officer, who was working as an outrider, was found injured following the collision. Police said he was conscious when he was taken to hospital.
What happened at Changi Airport?
Dashcam footage circulated online showed an enforcement motorcycle lying on its left side on the road after the collision.
A black Toyota Alphard was seen stopped behind the motorcycle. The vehicle was identified as a limousine taxi, while paramedics were filmed attending to the injured officer.
AsiaOne reported that ComfortDelGro operates Toyota Alphard limousine taxis, although this does not by itself establish that the vehicle involved was operated by ComfortDelGro.
Police said the taxi driver, a 54-year-old man, is assisting with ongoing investigations.
At this stage, authorities have not publicly stated what caused the crash, whether either party committed an offence, or whether charges will be filed.
