Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman marked their first wedding anniversary with a romantic celebration abroad—and Shaira made sure the milestone came with a sweet surprise for her husband.
The longtime couple celebrated their first year as husband and wife on August 14, 2026, nearly a year after they exchanged vows following 12 years together as a couple.
For the special occasion, Shaira prepared a surprise inside their hotel room in Finland, decorating the space with balloons and fairy lights. When EA walked in carrying a bouquet of flowers for his wife, he appeared unaware of the surprise waiting for him.
Shaira then greeted him with a cheerful “Happy anniversary!” before giving him a mini cake topped with a number-one candle.
“Always love surprising you,” Shaira wrote in her Instagram caption, sharing a glimpse of the intimate celebration.
The anniversary celebration came as the couple traveled to Finland for work. Shaira and EA are currently there to shoot their upcoming movie “Buddy,” making the trip a combination of work, travel and their first wedding anniversary celebration.
The couple also explored Helsinki and enjoyed Finnish food, turning their overseas work trip into what GMA described as practically a second honeymoon.
From 12 years together to one year of marriage
Shaira and EA’s anniversary carries extra meaning because their wedding came after more than a decade together.
The couple had been together for 12 years when they finally tied the knot on August 14, 2025, at St. Benedict Parish, Westgrove Heights, in Silang, Cavite.
They had been engaged since 2021, although they publicly announced their engagement only in 2024. Their wedding plans were initially targeted for 2026, but the couple eventually moved the wedding forward to August 2025.
Their wedding was also a major showbiz event, attended by family, friends and several celebrities from the entertainment industry. Among those included in their star-studded entourage were Boy Abunda, Arnold Clavio, Susan Enriquez, Coco Martin, Rayver Cruz, Rodjun Cruz, Joross Gamboa, Gerald Anderson, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Arra San Agustin and Julia Montes.
Their anniversary messages were just as heartfelt
Before Shaira’s surprise celebration, the couple exchanged emotional messages online for their first year of marriage.
Shaira described EA as her “safe place,” “best friend,” and “home,” while expressing gratitude for having a partner she considers supportive, caring, loving, patient and understanding.
She also shared how happy she remains about waking up and going to sleep beside EA even after a year of marriage.
EA, meanwhile, addressed Shaira as “Mrs. Guzman” and promised that she would continue to be the person with whom he builds his dreams and shares life’s highs and lows.
He ended his message by describing his wife as his “HOME, REST, and FOREVER.”
A love story that took years to reach the altar
