Singapore Bank Promotions in September 2026: DBS Offers 50% Travel Discounts While UOB Turns Saving Into a Game

Singapore bank customers have more than cashback and sign-up gifts to look out for this month, with several major banks offering travel discounts, shopping perks, lucky draws and rewards tied to everyday banking.

Among the more eye-catching promotions is DBS/POSB’s Half-Priced Holidays campaign, which gives eligible cardholders access to 50 per cent discounts on selected flights, hotels and activities throughout the week. The campaign runs until Dec 31, 2026, although individual partner offers have their own terms, caps and redemption limits.

The DBS promotion rotates across different travel platforms depending on the day. Trip.com offers 50 per cent off selected return economy tickets on Mondays, Expedia offers selected hotel discounts on Tuesdays, Cathay Pacific has a Wednesday flight promotion, while Traveloka, AirAsia, Klook and Agoda feature on the remaining days. The discounts are subject to minimum spending requirements or maximum savings depending on the offer.

UOB is taking a different approach with its Save and Harvest promotion. Customers can grow virtual “Fruit Buds” through the UOB TMRW app as they save, with rewards including limited-edition fruit plushies and chances to win holiday vouchers worth up to S$1,500.

UOB is also running account-opening promotions in September and October. Eligible new customers can receive rewards after opening qualifying savings accounts and meeting requirements such as depositing new funds and, for certain offers, crediting their salary. Some promotional rewards are limited to the first qualifying customers.

For DBS customers who have been accumulating DBS Points, another promotion offers a chance to win S$1,000 when points are redeemed through DBS PayLah! for non-miles rewards. The campaign has a limited number of winners, making the timing and eligibility requirements important for anyone planning a redemption.

There are also smaller incentives available. DBS/POSB customers who newly link their NRIC/FIN or mobile number to PayNow can receive up to S$10 in cash, subject to registration, eligibility requirements and limited reward quotas.

Other banks are competing with travel-related promotions as well. Current offers include flight, hotel and cruise discounts from institutions such as Citibank, HSBC and Maybank, with individual deals varying by card type, destination, booking period and minimum spending requirements.

OCBC is also running a limited-time savings promotion through Dec 31, offering bonus interest of up to 0.65 per cent a year on the first S$100,000 for customers who meet the required monthly balance-growth conditions. Its separate fresh-funds promotion offers up to 1.70 per cent a year on eligible deposits of at least S$50,000, valid until Sept 30.

The promotions may look generous, but the headline discount or reward is only part of the calculation. Many offers have minimum spending requirements, redemption caps, specific booking windows, qualifying cards or other conditions.

For consumers, the biggest difference may come down to whether the promotion matches spending they were already planning to make. A large discount can quickly lose its value if it encourages unnecessary spending simply to unlock a reward.

With September promotions spanning travel, dining, entertainment, savings and everyday payments, Singapore’s banks are competing for customers well beyond traditional credit-card sign-up bonuses — and some of the most valuable deals may disappear once their limited quotas are exhausted.
