PAL Ultimate Seat Sale Returns Aug. 24 With Up to 60% Off—But There’s a Catch

Travelers planning their next getaway may want to set a reminder for August 24.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is bringing back its Ultimate Seat Sale, giving passengers only seven days to book discounted flights across selected domestic and international routes.

The promotion runs from August 24 through August 30, 2026, according to PAL and multiple reports published ahead of the sale.

But there is an important detail travelers should know: not every flight will receive the same discount, and the biggest savings depend on the travel period.

Domestic flights could get up to 60% off

According to PhilSTAR Life, PAL’s upcoming promotion offers up to 40% off selected domestic flights for travel from September 16, 2026 to January 31, 2027.

For passengers planning farther ahead, the discount increases to up to 60% for travel beginning February 1, 2027.

The reported domestic destinations include popular routes to Cebu, Davao, Tacloban, Roxas, Dumaguete, Daraga, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Busuanga and Tagbilaran, among others.

That means travelers who are flexible with their dates could potentially find substantially better deals by looking at trips scheduled in 2027 rather than immediately booking a September or October getaway.

International flights are also included

The sale is not limited to Philippine destinations.

PAL is also offering discounts on selected international routes, with PhilSTAR Life reporting up to 35% off for eligible travel from September 16, 2026 through January 31, 2027.

For international trips beginning February 1, 2027, the reported discount goes as high as 45%.

Destinations cited in the promotion include Da Nang, Hanoi, Perth, Melbourne, Dubai, Hong Kong, Saipan, Vancouver, Busan and Nagoya, among others.

PAL is keeping some details under wraps

The timing of the sale is confirmed, but travelers should be careful when seeing posts online claiming that every fare, destination or travel date has already been announced.

PAL’s initial announcement said the full details on fares, travel periods, discount offers and other highlights would be revealed when the sale officially begins.

Daily Tribune similarly reported that the airline had not yet released the complete promotional fares and corresponding travel periods in its initial announcement.

PAL also said the promotion would include additional opportunities for savings and added-value offers that would be unveiled online during the booking period.

Installment payments could make bookings easier

Another perk is available to eligible domestic bookings.

PAL continues to offer installment payment options through participating credit card partners, giving qualified passengers the option to spread out the cost of their tickets rather than paying the full amount immediately.

PhilSTAR Life reported that BPI, Metrobank and UnionBank are offering three-month, 0% interest installment options for a minimum spend of ₱20,000, while HSBC offers three months at 0% interest for a ₱20,000 minimum spend and six months at 0% interest for a ₱50,000 minimum spend. Travelers should still check the applicable terms and conditions before booking.

Where travelers should check

PAL is expected to release the detailed sale information through its official website, mobile app and social media channels when the promotion begins.

Travelers should also check the fare conditions carefully. A headline discount does not necessarily mean every seat on every flight is discounted, and promotional fares may be subject to availability, travel-period restrictions and other conditions.

The countdown is now on

The PAL Ultimate Seat Sale runs for just seven days—from August 24 to August 30, 2026.

For travelers who have been waiting to book a vacation, the most interesting part may not be the first flights they see on August 24.

It could be how much further the savings go for trips beginning in February 2027—especially for passengers flexible enough to adjust their travel dates.

So before rushing to book, compare the available dates, check the fare conditions and look beyond the immediate travel season.

The sale starts Monday, August 24. The question is: how quickly will the best seats disappear?
