BANGKOK, Thailand — Thai teenage rock sensation Nene Royal has gone from busking in Phuket to winning America’s Got Talent—and now her family has received another extraordinary surprise.
The Chearavanont family, led by billionaire businessman Dhanin Chearavanont, has gifted Nene and her family a luxury condominium in Bangkok following her remarkable rise to international fame.
The gift comes just days after the 16-year-old guitarist made history as the first Thai winner of America’s Got Talent, taking home the show’s US$1 million top prize.
A new home for Nene’s family
The gifted property is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium measuring about 98.69 square metres at Mulberry Grove The Forestias, a luxury residential development along Bang Na-Trat Road in Bangkok.
The unit was presented to Nene’s family on September 5, 2026, before she traveled to the United States for the America’s Got Talent finale.
According to reports, the gift was intended to provide greater stability for Nene’s family while supporting the young musician as she continues developing her career.
The property is part of a low-rise residential development featuring amenities including a fitness centre, swimming pool, workspaces, children’s play areas and electric-vehicle charging facilities.
The gift came before Nene’s historic win
The timing makes the gesture especially striking.
When the condominium was handed over in early September, Nene had not yet won America’s Got Talent.
She was preparing to compete in the final stages of the US television competition after a run that had already turned her into a major online sensation.
She ultimately captured the Season 21 title on September 23, following the final public vote, becoming the first Thai contestant to win the competition.
Her victory came with a US$1 million prize, adding another major milestone to a story that began far from the bright lights of American television.
From Phuket street performer to global stage
Nene, whose real name is Rattikarn Amloy, began performing guitar in Phuket’s night markets.
Her family supported her musical ambitions despite financial challenges, and her performances eventually helped propel her onto the international stage.
Her America’s Got Talent audition featured a rock performance that attracted enormous online attention. Her subsequent performances included songs from major rock acts, helping establish her as one of the season’s most recognizable contestants.
Her story resonated particularly strongly in Thailand, where her success generated support from business leaders and government figures.
Before the AGT finale, Nene’s image was also displayed on a giant Times Square screen in New York, in an initiative supported by Charoen Pokphand Foods.
More than a property gift
The Chearavanont family’s support goes beyond the condominium.
According to Thai media reports, CP Group also offered Nene a continuing scholarship and provided equipment intended to support her studies and music composition, including an Apple Studio Display and AirPods Max.
The family’s gesture was reportedly inspired by Nene’s determination and the role her parents played in supporting her ambitions.
That family connection is particularly significant in Nene’s story: her rise was not simply the result of a television appearance but followed years of musical practice and support from her parents.
Thailand embraces its new rock star
Nene’s AGT victory has quickly become a major cultural moment in Thailand.
At just 16, she has gone from playing guitar for audiences in Phuket to winning one of America’s best-known televised talent competitions.
Her success has also attracted attention from Thailand’s tourism sector. The Straits Times reported that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had supported efforts to explore ways to use Nene’s international profile in tourism promotion.
Nene is also scheduled to perform in Singapore on October 13, opening for Avenged Sevenfold at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The next chapter is already beginning
The condominium gift adds another chapter to an extraordinary transformation.
Nene entered the international spotlight as a young musician from Phuket. She leaves America’s Got Talent as a million-dollar winner with a growing international audience—and now her family has a new home in Bangkok.
Yet the biggest part of the story may still be ahead.
Her AGT victory has opened opportunities beyond the competition, including international performances and potential involvement in promoting Thailand abroad.
From a Phuket night market to an American television stage, Nene Royal’s journey has already changed her family’s life. Now, with a new home waiting in Bangkok, the next chapter of Thailand’s teenage rock star is only beginning.
