Kelly Rowland Was Asked About a Destiny’s Child Super Bowl Reunion — Her Answer Has Fans Guessing

LOS ANGELES — November 3, 2026 — Could Destiny’s Child return to the Super Bowl stage in 2027?

Kelly Rowland isn’t saying.

The singer was asked whether she, Beyoncé and Michelle Williams could reunite during Jay-Z’s Super Bowl LXI halftime show, but instead of confirming or denying the possibility, Rowland kept the answer firmly under wraps.

“That’s none of my business,” she told PEOPLE, adding that “that’s his performance.”

And that carefully guarded response has done little to stop the speculation.

Jay-Z’s Super Bowl performance is officially confirmed

Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation officially announced him as the performer in October. The decision is particularly notable because Roc Nation has been involved in producing and advising on the Super Bowl halftime show since its partnership with the NFL began in 2019.

Jay-Z described the opportunity as a dream come true after three decades in music.

While his headline performance is official, the NFL has not announced his guest performers. That uncertainty is giving fans plenty of room to speculate.

And one possibility keeps coming back: Beyoncé.

Why Destiny’s Child is suddenly part of the conversation

The speculation isn’t completely random.

Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — the group’s best-known trio — recently reunited publicly at Jay-Z’s 30th-anniversary concert at SoFi Stadium on Oct. 23.

The three watched the concert together from Beyoncé’s suite, supporting Jay-Z during his Los Angeles performances. Rowland later described the gathering as a night out with friends and family.

That reunion happened at the same stadium where Jay-Z will perform his Super Bowl halftime show.

That coincidence has naturally sent fans into speculation mode.

But there is currently no official announcement that Beyoncé, Rowland or Williams will perform during the halftime show.

Destiny’s Child has already mastered the surprise reunion

The group has a history of appearing together when fans least expect it.

Destiny’s Child reunited during Beyoncé’s 2013 Super Bowl halftime performance, creating one of the most memorable moments of that show.

The trio later reunited at Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella headline performance.

More recently, Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams appeared together during the final stop of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour in Las Vegas in July 2025.

That history makes another surprise appearance conceivable — but it doesn’t make it confirmed.

Kelly Rowland’s answer only adds fuel to the rumors

Rowland’s response is especially intriguing because she didn’t simply say “no.”

Instead, she repeatedly distanced herself from the decision.

When asked about a possible Destiny’s Child appearance, she effectively pointed the question back toward Jay-Z’s show.

That leaves fans without an answer.

And perhaps that’s exactly the point.

Entertainment performers routinely keep major surprise appearances secret until the stage lights come on. So Rowland’s refusal to discuss the possibility doesn’t establish that a reunion is happening — but it also doesn’t provide the definitive denial that would end the speculation.

Even Beyoncé is only a possibility for now

Jay-Z’s connection to Beyoncé naturally makes her one of the most obvious names fans are considering.

Beyoncé previously headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013 and returned as a guest during the 2016 halftime performance alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars.

The NFL itself has noted that anticipation over Jay-Z’s potential guests is already building, with Beyoncé among the names fans are likely to discuss.

But there is an important distinction between fan expectations and confirmed bookings.

At this point, Jay-Z is confirmed.

Beyoncé is not.

Destiny’s Child is not.

The reunion fans really want

For longtime Destiny’s Child fans, the appeal goes beyond a simple guest appearance.

The group was one of the defining female R&B/pop acts of its era, with Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams becoming its most recognizable lineup before Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2006.

Their occasional reunions have become major pop-culture moments precisely because they are relatively rare.

A Super Bowl appearance would therefore carry considerably more weight than an ordinary reunion.

And if it happened at SoFi Stadium, the setting would make the moment even more fitting: the trio was already together in that building just weeks ago for Jay-Z’s concert.

So, will Destiny’s Child actually perform?

Right now, there is no confirmed answer.

Kelly Rowland has not announced a reunion.

Beyoncé has not announced an appearance.

Michelle Williams has not announced an appearance.

And Jay-Z has not revealed his guest lineup.

What we do know is that the three women have recently been together publicly, they have reunited on major stages before, and Jay-Z’s Super Bowl performance is officially confirmed.

That combination is enough to keep the rumor alive.

But until the performers themselves — or the NFL, Apple Music or Roc Nation — announce a Destiny’s Child appearance, it remains speculation rather than news.

And if Rowland really is keeping a secret, fans may have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to find out.
