A 41-year-old habal-habal driver allegedly identified by police as a high-value drug suspect was arrested along with a 19-year-old alleged accomplice during a buy-bust operation in Toledo City, Cebu.
The operation was conducted at about 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Barangay Bulongan, Toledo City, according to police.
The main suspect, identified as Regie, a resident of Sitio Cantigay in Barangay Bulongan, was tagged by authorities as a high-value individual. His alleged accomplice, Mark, 19, a resident of Barangay Media Once, was identified as a street-level individual.
Personnel from the Toledo City Police Station’s Special Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the operation, which resulted in the seizure of eight sachets containing suspected shabu.
The seized substance had a combined weight of 12.07 grams and an estimated standard drug price of P82,076, authorities said. Police also recovered a .38-caliber revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition.
Both suspects were brought to the Toledo City Police Station following the operation. Police said the suspects are facing allegations involving the possession and sale of illegal drugs.
The arrest adds to ongoing police operations targeting suspected drug distribution networks in Cebu, particularly operations aimed at identifying individuals allegedly involved in the street-level sale and movement of illegal drugs.
Authorities will determine the circumstances surrounding the seized firearm and ammunition as the investigation and filing of charges proceed. The allegations against the two suspects remain subject to the legal process.
