MANDALUYONG CITY, Philippines — La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) shifted its classes online on Thursday, August 27, as a precaution after the school received what it described as a security concern, prompting authorities to deploy police personnel to the campus.
The decision affected students from Preschool to Grade 12, including those in the school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) and Alternative Education programs, with classes conducted online synchronously for the day.
According to the school’s advisory, administrators had already identified the source of the concern but could not complete their full safety protocols and onsite investigation before the start of scheduled classes.
Rather than take any chances, the school chose to keep students away from campus.
“Our top priority will always be the protection and peace of mind of our children and school family,” LSGH said in its advisory.
Police personnel were deployed to the Mandaluyong campus as authorities coordinated with school officials and continued their investigation. However, officials have yet to publicly disclose the exact nature of the security concern, with police saying the probe remains ongoing.
