MANILA, Philippines — Despite the continuing strain in their relationship, actress Lotlot de Leon has chosen to respond to her brother Ian de Leon with goodwill, saying she wishes him success and “all the best” even though the two have yet to speak.
Lotlot opened up about the situation during her September 4 appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where she was asked about the ongoing situation involving her siblings, including Ian, Matet, Kiko and Kenneth.
Rather than revisit the details of their dispute, Lotlot said she was leaving the outcome to God and focusing her attention on her own family, career and responsibilities.
“I’ll just leave it in God’s hands, Tito Boy. I mean, in God’s time. I’ll just surrender. I don’t want to get ahead of the Lord,” Lotlot said.
She added that her priorities are now her children, husband and work, while making it clear that she remains willing to help her siblings if they need her.
Lotlot and Ian have yet to talk
Host Boy Abunda then brought up Ian’s earlier appearance on the same program, during which he said he hoped the misunderstandings among the siblings would eventually be resolved.
When Lotlot was asked whether Ian had been fair to all four of his siblings, she gave a straightforward answer: they still have not spoken to each other.
Despite the distance, however, Lotlot did not use the opportunity to reignite their public dispute.
Instead, she offered her brother a message of support.
“Whatever his plans are, I wish him well. I wish him well,” she said.
She followed it by saying she wished Ian success and “all the best.”
The dispute surrounding Nora Aunor’s legacy
The latest development comes months after a highly publicized disagreement among the children of the late National Artist and Superstar Nora Aunor.
Nora died on April 16, 2025, at age 71. She was the mother of five children—Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko and Kenneth—with Ian being her only biological child with actor Christopher de Leon. The other four were adopted by Nora and Christopher.
Much of the recent tension centered on questions surrounding Nora’s estate, legacy and organizations established in her name.
In his June 2026 appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Ian explained the creation of a one-person corporation connected to his mother’s legacy. The structure included the Nora Aunor Enterprise, intended to handle projects involving Nora’s estate and legacy, and the Nora Aunor Foundation, including the NoraCares charitable program.
Ian also maintained that the legal issues surrounding Nora’s estate needed to be addressed properly and expressed hope that his siblings could eventually work together.
He described the family’s situation as one involving misunderstandings and said he did not want to force reconciliation before the right time.
Lotlot previously broke her silence
The issue became more emotional in June when Lotlot publicly reacted to Ian’s interview.
During a press conference for her upcoming film “40 Days,” Lotlot disputed Ian’s account of discussions about the corporation and said she and her siblings had not been properly informed about it.
She became emotional while discussing the issue and stressed that she was not fighting over an inheritance.
Lotlot said she had no desire to claim Nora’s estate, emphasizing that being raised by Nora and being able to call her “Mommy” already meant so much to her.
The dispute subsequently triggered a public exchange of statements between the siblings. Philstar.com reported that Ian later responded to Lotlot’s remarks and maintained that discussions had taken place among the siblings, including a meeting after Nora’s death and a subsequent Zoom conversation.
ABS-CBN likewise reported on Ian’s response to Lotlot’s accusations, showing how the disagreement had escalated into a very public family dispute.
Matet has also addressed the situation
The disagreement has not involved only Lotlot and Ian.
Matet de Leon previously appeared on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” and characterized the situation with Ian as a misunderstanding rather than simply describing it as a feud.
Ian, meanwhile, said he remained in communication with brothers Kiko and Kenneth during his June interview and expressed hope that the family could eventually move toward reconciliation.
PEP.ph later published a timeline of the dispute, documenting how disagreements over Nora Aunor’s legacy and inheritance developed into a wider family controversy following the Superstar’s death.
For now, Lotlot is choosing peace
Lotlot’s latest comments represent a noticeably calmer tone compared with her emotional statements in June.
Rather than continuing the public back-and-forth, she appears to be drawing a line between the unresolved family dispute and the life she wants to focus on.
She said she is concentrating on herself, her children and her work, while still making herself available to her siblings.
“And if my siblings need me, I will also be there,” she said.
For now, there is no indication that Lotlot and Ian have reconciled or resumed communication.
But Lotlot’s latest message suggests that, despite everything that has happened, she has chosen not to close the door completely.
She may not be ready to speak with her brother yet—but she is making one thing clear: she still wishes him well.
