A Scoot flight bound for Singapore was delayed in Macau after a passenger was removed from the aircraft because of disruptive behaviour, with the incident later drawing attention after video footage appeared on Chinese social media.
The incident occurred on Sept. 27 aboard Scoot flight TR905, which was preparing to depart Macau International Airport for Singapore. Scoot confirmed the passenger was removed before departure and handed over to local authorities.
Passenger Escorted Off Aircraft
Video posted on Xiaohongshu on Sept. 28 showed a woman being escorted down the aircraft aisle by uniformed officers and Scoot crew members.
Passengers could be heard applauding as she left the plane.
The video attracted significant attention online, with the original post receiving hundreds of reactions and comments. However, Scoot has not disclosed the specific behaviour that led to the passenger’s removal, and authorities have not publicly provided further details.
Two-Hour Delay in Macau
The incident resulted in a substantial delay for passengers.
Flight TR905 had been scheduled to leave Macau at about 6:45 p.m. local time but eventually departed at 8:46 p.m., according to Scoot.
While the situation was handled, the remaining passengers stayed aboard the aircraft and were provided with refreshments.
The aircraft subsequently continued its journey to Singapore.
Passenger Handed to Macau Authorities
Scoot said the passenger was handed over to local authorities at Macau International Airport following the removal.
The airline said it was investigating the incident and apologized for the disruption and inconvenience caused to passengers.
Scoot also emphasized that the safety and well-being of its customers and crew are its priority and that it would take appropriate action when a passenger poses a risk to them.
What Happened Onboard?
That remains the unanswered part of the story.
While footage shows the passenger being escorted from the aircraft and passengers applauding, the available reporting does not establish exactly what happened before the removal.
That distinction is important because speculation surrounding the video has circulated online, while Scoot has so far provided only a general description of the incident as disruptive behaviour.
For the passengers aboard TR905, the immediate outcome was a two-hour delay before the flight could continue to Singapore.
Now, attention turns to the airline’s investigation and whether authorities will release further details about what triggered the incident in the first place.
