A passenger was removed from a Scoot flight departing Macau for Singapore after allegedly displaying disruptive behaviour, causing a delay of about two hours for other travellers.
The incident happened on Sept. 27 aboard Scoot flight TR905, which was scheduled to leave Macau International Airport at about 6.45pm. According to a passenger who shared footage of the incident online, the flight eventually departed at around 8.45pm and arrived in Singapore at about 12.30am.
Video posted online showed a woman being escorted down the aircraft aisle by at least four security personnel. She could be seen raising both hands in what appeared to be peace signs as she was led away. A member of the cabin crew followed the group carrying a handbag believed to belong to the passenger.
Other passengers appeared to applaud as the woman was escorted off the aircraft. Online commenters speculated that the passenger had been removed because of disruptive behaviour, although details of what happened before the removal were not immediately clear.
Scoot confirmed that a passenger was removed from flight TR905 before departure because of disruptive behaviour. The passenger was subsequently handed over to local authorities at Macau International Airport.
The airline said the remaining passengers stayed on board and were provided with refreshments while the situation was handled. Scoot apologised for the disruption and inconvenience caused by the incident.
The airline said the safety and well-being of its customers and crew remain its top priority and that it would take appropriate measures against passengers who pose a risk to others.
Flight TR905 operates between Macau and Singapore, with the route continuing to be listed in the scheduled services from Macau International Airport.
The incident highlights how disruptive passenger behaviour can affect an entire flight, potentially resulting in delays and requiring intervention from airport authorities before an aircraft can safely depart.
