A 27-year-old driver is assisting with police investigations after his car reportedly skidded and crashed into a road divider along Upper Bukit Timah Road, ripping apart a large section of fencing and scattering debris across the road.
The accident happened at about 11.35pm on Sept 20, as the car was travelling towards Dairy Farm. Police said the vehicle is believed to have skidded before hitting the divider. No injuries were reported.
Videos recorded after the crash showed the damaged car stopped on the opposite side of the road, facing against the direction of traffic. A lengthy section of metal fencing had been torn from the divider, with pieces scattered across the roadway.
Footage showed motorists passing the mangled fencing and debris while the damaged barrier occupied part of the road. Another report said only one lane remained usable at the scene as the debris was cleared.
The crash caused significant damage to the road divider, but authorities said there were no reported injuries. The circumstances leading to the skid remain under investigation.
The incident is another reminder of how quickly a loss of control can create hazards for other motorists — particularly when debris and damaged road infrastructure are left across active lanes.
For now, police have not indicated whether any charges will be brought against the driver. He remains assisting with the ongoing investigation.
