Soldiers and village officials brought basic services closer to residents of Asin village in Panamao, Sulu, through a community outreach activity held on September 17, 2026.
The Barangay Government of Asin led the activity in partnership with the Philippine Army’s 21st Infantry Battalion (21IB) and the 2nd Civil-Military Operations Company, according to the 1102nd Infantry Brigade.
The outreach included a community clean-up drive, a feeding activity and free haircut services for residents.
The 1102nd Infantry Brigade said the activity was part of the 21IB’s continuing community visitation program, which aims to strengthen coordination and cooperation between security forces, local government officials and residents.
According to the brigade, the activities were intended not only to provide immediate assistance but also to encourage community participation in efforts related to peace and security.
The 21IB continues to conduct community engagements, security patrols and checkpoints in various villages in Panamao and Kalingalan Caluang as part of its ongoing security operations.
The 1102nd Infantry Brigade said the military would maintain its presence and community engagement in Sulu while supporting local efforts to promote a safe and peaceful environment.
