FIFA has confirmed that its president, Gianni Infantino, remains committed to seeking another term in office when world football’s governing body holds its presidential election in March 2027.
The confirmation comes at a turbulent time for Infantino, who has faced growing criticism and calls to step down following the collapse of a controversial proposal involving a stake in the commercial rights to FIFA competitions, including the World Cup.
