Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino Have Been Courting for Over a Year—But She’s Still Not Saying “Yes”

MANILA, Philippines — More than a year into their courtship, Kapuso stars Shuvee Etrata and Anthony Constantino are taking their relationship one step at a time—and now, their real-life chemistry is getting a fictional twist in their upcoming digital romantic-comedy series, From Vlog to Love.

The two have become one of the more talked-about young Kapuso pairings, with their off-screen courtship adding an extra layer of excitement to their first starring project together.

During the media conference for From Vlog to Love, Anthony confirmed that he has been pursuing Shuvee for more than a year. He also revealed that their connection began before Shuvee entered “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 1.0.”

For Shuvee, Anthony’s persistence remains one of the qualities that stands out most.

She described him as an “unreal” suitor and said his effort has not diminished since he began courting her. If anything, she said, his efforts have only increased.

From real-life courtship to reel-life romance

Their upcoming series gives fans another reason to watch their chemistry unfold.

From Vlog to Love follows Angge, a hardworking college student undergoing on-the-job training at a resort, who crosses paths with Bullet, a bossy Filipino-American who is sent back to the Philippines after becoming involved in a scandal. As their relationship develops, Angge eventually discovers that there may be another reason behind Bullet’s attempts to win her over.

The series marks a major milestone for both actors.

Shuvee has called the project a dream role, particularly because she has long wanted to do a romantic-comedy series. Working opposite someone she already feels comfortable with has made the experience even more meaningful for her.

Anthony, meanwhile, has acknowledged that portraying Bullet came with its own challenges, including learning to speak Filipino for the role. He also said he believes his and Shuvee’s characters will be fun to watch because of the similarities between their fictional relationship and their own personalities.

But are Shuvee and Anthony officially a couple?

That’s where the story gets even more interesting.

Despite their obvious closeness, Shuvee has repeatedly made it clear that they are not rushing to put an official label on their relationship.

In a March interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, she said they were allowing things to develop naturally and that she wanted people to get to know Anthony as an individual rather than simply as someone connected to her.

PEP.ph likewise reported in April that Shuvee continued to describe their relationship as courtship, despite the pair’s growing closeness. At the time, she jokingly suggested Anthony might have to wait much longer before receiving a definitive answer.

That patience appears to remain important to both of them.

At the latest media conference, Anthony emphasized that their priority is building a strong foundation while supporting each other’s careers and families. Shuvee also said that her family remains her top priority, noting that she still has eight siblings she wants to help.

Their onscreen partnership is only getting bigger

The digital series isn’t the only project bringing the pair together.

Shuvee and Anthony are also part of the Kapuso program “Barangay Love Stories,” which is set to premiere on GMA, while their pairing previously drew attention through the GMA Pictures horror film Huwag Kang Titingin.

Their digital-series pairing was first teased by Sparkle earlier this year, when the talent agency revealed that the two would headline a romantic-comedy project. Director Adolf Alix Jr. also shared a look-test photo at the time.

Now, that project has a title—and a premiere date.

“From Vlog to Love” premieres September 18 on the GMA Network YouTube channel, with episodes scheduled Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.

For fans following the so-called AnVee pairing, the biggest question may not be whether Shuvee and Anthony have chemistry—they clearly do.

The bigger question is whether their on-screen romance will eventually mirror what happens in real life.

For now, however, Shuvee appears perfectly comfortable letting Anthony keep courting her.

And after more than a year, the answer fans are waiting for still hasn’t arrived.
