MANILA, Philippines — A routine morning along one of Manila’s busiest roads turned into chaos after a bus reportedly lost its brakes and triggered a multi-vehicle collision along España Boulevard, leaving 10 people injured.
The crash involved at least eight vehicles, according to an ABS-CBN News report published Friday, September 12. The incident occurred along España Boulevard, a major thoroughfare near the University of Santo Tomas and one of the capital’s busiest transport corridors.
Initial reports indicate that the bus suffered an apparent brake failure before the series of collisions. Authorities are continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash, including how the vehicles were struck and whether mechanical failure was the sole cause.
The 10 injured individuals were the immediate focus of rescue and response efforts following the collision.
