Twenty-five years after helping shape the sound of Filipino pop-rock, 6cyclemind is celebrating a major milestone with a free anniversary concert that brings together multiple generations of OPM artists.
The veteran band will headline its 25th Anniversary Concert on September 12, 2026, at Eton Centris in Quezon City, with doors opening at 4 p.m. and the show beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
And while the celebration is built around 6cyclemind’s quarter-century journey, the lineup makes the event even more noteworthy.
Joining the band are Gigi de Lana, Bino of SunKissed Lola, HEY JUNE!, and The Dawn frontman Jet Pangan, while CLNO will serve as the opening act. CLNO was formed by former 6cyclemind member Chuck Isidro, adding another layer of history to the anniversary celebration.
A quarter-century of songs Filipinos grew up with
6cyclemind emerged in the early 2000s and became closely associated with the era’s alternative and pop-rock movement.
The band’s catalog includes songs such as “Sandalan,” “Sige,” “Biglaan,” “Upside Down,” “Prinsesa,” and “Kasalanan,” tracks that have continued to circulate through radio, streaming platforms, live gigs, karaoke sessions and Filipino playlists.
The band’s official history identifies its formation in 2001, with the original lineup including Tutti Caringal, Rye Sarmiento, Bob Cañamo, Herbert Hernandez, Vic Aquino and songwriter-manager Darwin Hernandez.
The group’s name itself has a story: although the performing lineup is now five members, the “sixth” member refers to Darwin Hernandez, the band’s manager and songwriter.
From lineup changes to a lasting OPM legacy
6cyclemind’s longevity is particularly notable because the band has navigated major changes throughout its career.
One of the most significant moments came when former vocalist Ney Dimaculangan left the group in 2011, after which drummer Tutti Caringal stepped into the role of lead vocalist. Contemporary coverage from The Philippine Star noted that the band chose to continue rather than disband, eventually winning fans over with its new configuration.
Dimaculangan later pursued his own music career, with Philippine Daily Inquirer reporting in 2019 on his post-6cyclemind journey and continued work as a singer-songwriter.

In 2022, the group also revisited some of its best-known material through Araw, Buwan, Taon, Dekada, which featured reimagined, guitar-driven renditions of songs including “Biglaan,” “Sandalan,” “Kasalanan” and “Sige.”
The band’s continuing ability to reinterpret its own catalog reflects how its songs have evolved alongside the listeners who first discovered them.
From small gigs to major stages
The anniversary also marks a journey that began with live performances in bars and smaller events before expanding into festivals and larger stages around the country. Recent coverage describes live performance as central to 6cyclemind’s identity and its connection with its audience.

Just days before the anniversary concert, 6cyclemind performed at Acer Day 2026 at the Araneta Coliseum, where GMA News reported that the band delivered nostalgic performances of “Biglaan,” “Prinsesa,” “Kasalanan,” “Sandalan” and “Sige” as part of a concert attended by more than 8,500 fans.
The appearance underscores a striking reality about the band: songs that first became popular more than two decades ago are still capable of filling contemporary concert stages.
A new chapter after 25 years
The September 12 celebration isn’t intended to be the final look back.
6cyclemind is reportedly working on a new album, signaling that the anniversary represents both a retrospective and the beginning of another chapter. Former member Chuck Isidro is involved as producer, according to recent coverage.
That makes the concert more than a trip down memory lane.
For longtime fans, it offers a chance to hear the songs that became part of their younger years. For newer listeners, it provides an opportunity to experience one of the Filipino bands whose music helped define an important chapter in OPM’s modern rock history.
