Thai Actress Links Threat to Testifying in Tangmo Death Case

Thai actress Usamanee “Kwan” Waitayanon has told police that she was threatened on Sunday morning, saying she believes the incident could be connected to her decision to provide testimony in the investigation into the death of actress Nida “Tangmo” Patcharawiraphong.

Kwan reportedly went to police after receiving what she considered a threatening message. She has recently become involved in the long-running Tangmo case after agreeing to provide information and evidence connected to claims surrounding the circumstances of the actress’s death.

Tangmo died after falling from a speedboat into the Chao Phraya River on the night of Feb 24, 2022. Her body was found two days later. Authorities initially concluded that her death was the result of an accident, while several people who were on the boat were prosecuted in connection with the case.

The case has continued to attract public attention, with complainants and other individuals pushing for further examination of evidence and questioning aspects of the original investigation. Kwan recently agreed to cooperate with a complaint involving alleged false evidence connected to the case.

According to earlier reports, Kwan and her friends were on another boat on the night Tangmo died.
