TALISAY ATTACK: Two Wounded, 16-Year-Old Escapes Unhurt After Group Allegedly Strikes on Motorcycle — Police Hunt for Answers

TALISAY CITY, Negros Occidental — A late-night attack in Talisay City left two young men injured while a 16-year-old boy who was with them escaped unharmed, after several unidentified individuals allegedly confronted and assaulted them early Monday morning.

The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. on August 31 at Bangga Bat-os in Barangay Zone 9, according to the Talisay City Police Station.

Police identified the injured victims only by the aliases “Gringo,” 24, and “Jonas,” 18, both residents of Talisay City. A 16-year-old male minor who was traveling with them was not injured.

Three riders on their way to a rehearsal

Initial police findings showed that the three were traveling on a Mio Gravis 125 motorcycle and were reportedly heading toward Barangay Zone 14 to watch a dress rehearsal.

Their trip reportedly took a dangerous turn when they reached Bangga Bat-os.

Police said several unidentified individuals allegedly confronted and harassed the group before attacking them. The assailants reportedly also struck the motorcycle before fleeing the area.

The attack left Gringo with a stab wound to his back, while Jonas suffered an injury to his right hand.

Victims rushed for treatment

The injured men were brought to the Talisay City Health Office for medical attention.

Gringo was subsequently referred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment, while Jonas was treated at the health facility and advised to go home.

The 16-year-old companion did not sustain injuries.

Attackers remain unidentified

As of the latest police information reported on September 2, authorities had not yet identified the alleged attackers.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and determine who was responsible for the assault.

The case also underscores the uncertainty surrounding late-night confrontations involving groups of young people, particularly when the identities and motives of the alleged attackers remain unknown.

For now, authorities have released no confirmed information identifying a suspect or establishing a motive. Until investigators determine otherwise, the allegations remain part of an ongoing police investigation.

This story will be updated if authorities release further verified information about the suspects, motive or condition of the injured victims.
