MANILA, Philippines — Shaira Diaz has finally addressed the pregnancy rumors surrounding her, putting an end to speculation while opening up about a much more personal struggle involving her health and body image.
The Kapuso actress and television host confirmed that she is not pregnant, despite comments and speculation from some netizens who noticed changes in her appearance.
In a social media post, Shaira explained that her weight gain has been difficult to manage because she is dealing with metabolic and hormonal concerns associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She also called on the public to be more careful about making assumptions about another person’s body.
“I’m only human. I gain weight, I struggle, and I have insecurities too,” Shaira said in her message, while urging people to think twice before leaving hurtful comments.
Shaira: “I am not yet pregnant”
The pregnancy rumors gained attention partly because Shaira and her husband, actor EA Guzman, have openly talked about wanting to start a family.
But Shaira made it clear that the reports circulating online are not true.
She directly addressed people spreading what she called false information, saying that she is not yet pregnant and that if and when that happens, the announcement will come directly from her and EA.
That clarification is particularly significant because the couple had previously shared their hopes of welcoming a child in 2026.
In December 2025, EA said they were planning to have a baby but emphasized that they were putting no pressure on themselves, while Shaira expressed hope for their “very own bundle of joy.”
Then, during Shaira’s 31st birthday celebration on Unang Hirit in May 2026, the couple again spoke openly about their desire to become parents.
Shaira said she was ready and jokingly declared that they would “manifest” having a baby that year, while EA said his birthday wish for his wife was for them to have a child soon.
That history likely helped fuel public curiosity—but Shaira’s latest statement makes clear that wanting a baby and actually being pregnant are two very different things.
Behind the speculation: Shaira’s PCOS battle
Rather than allowing the pregnancy rumors to define the conversation, Shaira used the moment to explain what she has actually been experiencing.
She acknowledged gaining weight and admitted that losing it has been challenging.
According to her account, she has been dealing with metabolic and hormonal issues related to PCOS, including concerns involving insulin resistance and hormonal imbalance.
Shaira has previously spoken about the same struggle.
In March 2025, GMA Entertainment reported that she had opened up about her difficulty managing her weight and connected the issue to PCOS. At the time, she shared progress in her efforts to lose weight and thanked her doctor for helping her manage her PCOS-related concerns.
This makes her latest statement less about a sudden change in appearance and more about an ongoing health and wellness journey that she has discussed publicly before.
She asks netizens to stop judging people’s bodies
Shaira’s message was also a direct response to the body-shaming comments she said she had received online.
She reminded followers that outsiders rarely know what another person may be experiencing privately.
Daily Tribune similarly reported that Shaira urged people to show greater sensitivity, emphasizing that people cannot know the full circumstances behind someone else’s physical changes.
GMA News reported that she specifically asked people to stop spreading false pregnancy information and said that the public would hear the news directly from her and EA if the couple eventually has a pregnancy announcement.
Her message ultimately went beyond the pregnancy rumor.
It became a reminder that a person’s weight, appearance or body should not automatically become an invitation for speculation about their private life.
Shaira and EA’s baby plans remain a personal journey
Shaira and EA Guzman married in August 2025 after more than a decade together. Their relationship has attracted considerable public attention, particularly because they were open about their decision to remain celibate before marriage.
After their wedding, the couple made no secret of their desire to eventually build a family.
But their previous statements about wanting a baby should not be interpreted as confirmation that Shaira is currently expecting.
For now, the actress has made her position clear: there is no pregnancy announcement to make.
And if that day eventually comes, Shaira has already indicated that fans will hear it from her and EA themselves.
For a celebrity whose personal life is frequently placed under a microscope, her latest message may ultimately be less about denying a rumor—and more about asking the public to remember the person behind the headlines.
A little kindness, as Shaira herself put it, can go a long way.
