MANILA, Philippines — For someone born into one of the Philippines’ most recognizable families, Robbie Jaworski might have seemed destined for the spotlight.
But according to the young actor and television personality himself, show business was never the original plan.
In an ABS-CBN Entertainment exclusive published on August 21, 2026, Jaworski once again opened up about his decision to enter the entertainment industry, adding another chapter to a career that has moved surprisingly fast—from a young man considering a corporate future to a Star Magic artist, MYX VJ and emerging actor.
And the more interesting part of his story may be that the entertainment industry had apparently been knocking on his door long before he finally opened it.
Showbiz Wasn’t His First Choice
Robbie, the eldest son of Olympic equestrian and former actress Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski and former basketball player and politician Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr., grew up surrounded by public figures.
His grandfather is Philippine basketball legend Robert “Sonny” Jaworski Sr.
Despite that pedigree, Robbie previously told The Philippine Star that entering showbiz was not part of his original plan.
Opportunities had reportedly surfaced as early as 2014, but his parents had a condition: education had to come first.
After completing his Management degree at Ateneo de Manila University, Robbie was looking toward a more conventional corporate career. He told The STAR that he had been interested particularly in the hospitality industry and eventually working with his father’s business.
That detail makes his eventual shift into entertainment more significant.
He wasn’t simply following a predetermined family path.
He was changing one.
The Offers Kept Coming
PEP.ph similarly reported in January 2025 that Robbie had received approaches about entering showbiz since his teenage years.
But he said he never had an overwhelming desire to become famous or immediately pursue acting.
Instead, the possibility remained in the background until he began seriously reconsidering it around late 2023 and 2024.
“Madami na rin po kasing naging offer na pumasok ever since I was a teenager,” Robbie told PEP, explaining that it was only later that he seriously began weighing the opportunity.
According to his earlier interview with The Philippine Star, another opportunity emerged around his mother’s birthday in February 2024.
This time, Robbie treated the offer differently.
He said he prayed about the opportunity and recognized that entering entertainment was something many people would be grateful to experience.
Rather than viewing showbiz purely as a path toward celebrity, he described it as an opportunity for personal growth and potentially accomplishing something bigger than himself.
Then Star Magic Made It Official
By November 2024, the speculation had become reality.
Robbie officially became a Kapamilya and Star Magic artist, beginning what would quickly turn into a multi-platform career.
His entry into entertainment was also closely connected to the professional world his mother once knew.
He became co-managed by Girlie Rodis, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski’s longtime manager, according to The Philippine Star.
But Robbie was beginning to establish an identity separate from the famous names around him.
One of his first visible roles came through music television.
From Corporate Ambitions to MYX VJ
Robbie eventually joined MYX as a VJ, putting him in front of cameras not primarily as an actor but as a host and interviewer.
By April 2025, he was already speaking publicly about his experience as a MYX VJ, while Metro.Style later reported on his efforts to sharpen his hosting skills and his ambitions to interview major artists.
It was an important transition.
Rather than immediately being positioned only as the grandson of a basketball icon or son of two famous personalities, Robbie was gaining experience in an area where personality, improvisation and communication mattered.
And acting soon followed.
‘The Alibi’ Became a Major Step
Robbie later joined the cast of ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment’s mystery-romance series “The Alibi,” alongside established stars including Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, John Arcilla, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Sofia Andres and Rafael Rosell.
The series also featured fellow young star Angelina Cruz.
“The Alibi” initially streamed on Prime Video beginning in November 2025 before an expanded television version, “The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan,” was prepared for primetime broadcast with additional scenes and an alternate ending.
Robbie and Angelina described landing their debut teleserye as a “blessing” in an ABS-CBN interview in November 2025.
By January 2026, Robbie was already reflecting publicly on completing his first year as an actor—a striking milestone for someone who only a short time earlier had envisioned himself pursuing corporate work instead.
He Isn’t Limiting Himself to Acting
His emerging career also shows signs of becoming broader than traditional acting.
Robbie has continued appearing as a MYX personality and in ABS-CBN events. In April 2026, he was among the MYX VJs who participated in the Pinoy Media Congress 2026, where ABS-CBN personalities and media professionals engaged with students interested in storytelling and communications.
He has also spoken publicly about causes and community involvement.
In a 2025 ABS-CBN interview, Robbie discussed his interest in advocating for important causes, while at the She Talks Asia Summit 2026, he spoke about community and lessons he learned from his mother.
And his family’s sporting roots have not disappeared entirely.
Robbie was named to Team Red for the 2026 Star Magic All-Star Games, scheduled for August 23, alongside Seth Fedelin, BGYO’s Mikki Claver and other Star Magic personalities.
The Jaworski Name Opens Attention—but Also Creates Expectations
Robbie’s surname inevitably attracts attention.
His mother Mikee became both an actress and internationally accomplished equestrian, while his father Dodot followed his own father into basketball before entering public service.
That kind of family background can create opportunity.
It can also create pressure.
Robbie previously acknowledged that people naturally expected something from him because of his family name. PEP quoted him describing how others already expected him to “be someone or something.”
His parents’ advice appears to have been less about exploiting that visibility and more about handling it properly.
Mikee and Dodot encouraged him to remain grounded as he entered entertainment, The Philippine Star reported.
That may ultimately become the bigger test of Robbie Jaworski’s career.
Getting noticed was never likely to be difficult for a member of the Jaworski-Cojuangco family.
Building a career that audiences associate with Robbie himself, rather than only the famous surname he inherited, is another challenge entirely.
From Reluctant Newcomer to Emerging Kapamilya Talent
Less than two years after formally joining Star Magic, Robbie Jaworski’s résumé already includes hosting, television drama, entertainment appearances, advocacy work and live events.
That doesn’t mean his career trajectory is settled.
In fact, his earliest interviews suggest the opposite.
Robbie entered showbiz without claiming to have spent his entire childhood dreaming about fame. The attraction appears to have developed gradually—from repeated offers, reflection and prayer into a willingness to see how far the opportunity could take him.
And that may be precisely why his story stands out.
For Robbie Jaworski, entering showbiz wasn’t about finally reaching a childhood destination.
It was about choosing a completely different road—and discovering where it might lead next.
