Punggol ActiveSG Sport Centre Opens for Soft Launch With Free Gym Entry, Giving Residents a New Fitness Destination

Residents in Singapore’s Punggol neighbourhood have a new place to exercise as ActiveSG Punggol Sport Centre begins its soft launch, offering free gym entry as part of efforts to encourage more people to stay active.

The new sports facility is expected to provide residents with greater access to fitness and recreational activities, making it easier for families, working adults and fitness enthusiasts to incorporate exercise into their daily routines.

One of the biggest attractions during the soft-launch period is complimentary access to the gym, giving visitors an opportunity to explore the facility and try out its fitness equipment without paying the usual entry fee.

The opening is also another development in Singapore’s efforts to expand community sports infrastructure, particularly in growing residential areas where demand for accessible recreational facilities continues to increase.

A Spacious Gym With Modern Fitness Equipment

The new ActiveSG gym is located on Level 2 of the Punggol Regional Sport Centre at 11 Sentul Crescent, next to SAFRA Punggol.

The facility features a range of workout equipment designed for different fitness routines, including:

  • Treadmills for cardiovascular exercise.
  • Stationary bicycles for indoor cycling.
  • Rowing machines for full-body workouts.
  • Stair climbers for endurance training.
  • Free weights and strength-training equipment.

The gym also features large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing visitors to enjoy views of the surrounding greenery and the sports centre’s swimming facilities.

It operates daily from 7am to 10pm, giving residents flexibility to exercise before work, during the day or after office hours.

Free Gym Entry Until October 31

The complimentary entry promotion runs from October 27 to October 31, 2026.

After the promotional period, the standard gym admission rates for Singapore citizens and permanent residents will apply:

  • Adults: S$2.50 per entry.
  • Students aged 12 to 17: S$1.50 per entry.
  • Seniors aged 55 and above: S$1.50 per entry.
  • Singapore citizens aged 65 and above: Free admission.

Regular gym users can also consider ActiveSG’s MyActiveGYM membership, which provides access to participating ActiveSG gyms across Singapore.

More Sports Facilities Available for Residents

The new gym is not the only attraction at the Punggol Sport Centre.

Visitors can also access several sports facilities, including badminton courts, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, tennis courts and table tennis facilities.

Bookings can be made through the ActiveSG platform, subject to availability and the applicable booking charges.

However, one highly anticipated attraction is still awaiting its opening: the 50-metre infinity-edge swimming pool overlooking Punggol Waterway.

The swimming complex has not yet opened for public use, and a confirmed opening date has not been announced in the available reports.

A Major Addition to Punggol’s Growing Community

The opening of the ActiveSG gym represents another important addition to Punggol’s expanding residential and recreational landscape.

As one of Singapore’s growing residential towns, Punggol has seen continued development in housing, transport connections, shopping destinations and community facilities.

The Punggol Regional Sport Centre is intended to become an important destination for residents seeking opportunities to participate in sports, exercise and recreational activities without having to travel far from home.

The development also reflects Sport Singapore’s broader objective of making sports facilities more accessible and encouraging people of different ages and fitness levels to adopt healthier lifestyles.

For residents who have been waiting for better fitness facilities in the neighbourhood, the soft launch offers an early opportunity to experience the new centre.

With free gym access available only until October 31, interested visitors have just a short window to enjoy the promotion before regular admission charges take effect.

The bigger attraction, however, may still be ahead: the opening of the remaining sports facilities, particularly the highly anticipated infinity pool overlooking Punggol Waterway.
