Mercedes-Benz has opened Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore at Gardens by the Bay, introducing a new kind of brand experience that blends luxury cars with art, design, food, culture and community.
The new Studio is the first Mercedes-Benz Studio in Southeast Asia and one of only 14 such locations worldwide.
Rather than operating as a conventional showroom, the Singapore outpost is designed as a public-facing lifestyle destination where visitors can experience the Mercedes-Benz brand even if they have no plans to buy a car.
A new kind of Mercedes-Benz experience
The Studio reflects Singapore’s identity as a Garden City, bringing together nature, design and innovation in a space designed around three interconnected areas: Canvas, Commune and Courtyard.
Canvas focuses on creative expression, with Mercedes-Benz vehicles incorporated into art and design installations created with local and regional creatives.
Commune serves as a café and social hub, featuring curated culinary partnerships alongside Mercedes-Benz products, collaborations and innovations.
Courtyard is designed as an interactive communal area, with immersive installations and activities aimed at encouraging visitors to spend time at the Studio rather than simply browse vehicles.
The concept represents a shift in how luxury automotive brands are engaging with consumers, moving beyond traditional dealerships and into lifestyle, culture and entertainment.
Cars meet art, food and creativity
The Studio’s opening programme highlights the brand’s intention to collaborate with Singapore’s creative community.
At Canvas, digital artwork by Singapore-based Metamo Industries accompanies the vehicles on display.
Commune features furnishings from local partners Commune and Stacked Store, while its first culinary residency comes from Ferm, which explores traditional fermentation through a contemporary approach.
The Studio has also begun hosting community-focused activities.
Its first Community Weekend brought together Adidas Run Club, cycling lifestyle brand Rapha and wellness collective Tundra, alongside creative workshops and live screen-printing.
The programme is expected to change over time, with seasonal partnerships, product launches, cultural events and community gatherings planned as part of the Studio’s calendar.
Mercedes-Benz wants people to visit even if they aren’t buying a car
The most significant difference between the Studio and a conventional Mercedes-Benz showroom is its emphasis on community rather than sales.
Visitors can attend lifestyle workshops, cultural activities and other experiences designed to create a connection with the brand outside the traditional car-buying journey.
That approach allows Mercedes-Benz to position itself within a wider luxury lifestyle ecosystem, where automotive design becomes one part of a broader experience.
The Studio is also intended to make the brand more accessible to younger audiences and consumers who may be interested in design, technology, fashion, food or culture without necessarily being ready to purchase a luxury vehicle.
Part of a global Studio network
Singapore now joins cities including Copenhagen, Delhi, Los Angeles, Madrid, Rome, Seoul, Shanghai, Stockholm, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo, Toronto and Warsaw in hosting a Mercedes-Benz Studio.
The Singapore location is particularly significant because it becomes the brand’s first such destination in Southeast Asia.
Its Gardens by the Bay location also gives Mercedes-Benz a prominent presence in one of Singapore’s most recognisable destinations.
The Studio is scheduled to operate through the third quarter of 2027, giving visitors nearly a year to experience its rotating programme.
When can you visit?
Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore is open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 10pm, and from Fridays to Sundays from 8am to 8pm.
Admission is free and visitors do not need an appointment for general access, although some special programmes may require advance registration or separate tickets.
For those looking to actually purchase a Mercedes-Benz, the Studio is not replacing the brand’s conventional retail operation. Buyers will still need to visit Mercedes-Benz Centre at Alexandra Road for the full sales experience.
But for everyone else, the new Gardens by the Bay destination offers something different: a chance to step into the world of Mercedes-Benz without having to be in the market for a new car.
