MANILA, Philippines — A string of cryptic social-media posts involving Heart Evangelista and Raymond Gutierrez has sent Philippine showbiz watchers into overdrive, reviving questions about whether two personalities who once moved in the same entertainment and fashion circles are now caught in a quiet war of words.
But behind the viral speculation is a much longer story involving an old management dispute, fashion-week controversy, fan wars and a friendship that has already endured public tension before.
Neither Evangelista nor Gutierrez has explicitly declared that they are currently feuding, making it important to separate what has been publicly confirmed from what social-media users are merely connecting.
Cryptic posts trigger fresh speculation
The latest round of intrigue intensified after Gutierrez posted commentary touching on politics, corruption, fashion and privilege—subjects that quickly drew attention because Evangelista has also recently been making pointed remarks about influencers, entitlement and behavior in the fashion world.
Evangelista previously criticized unnamed influencers whom she described as acting entitled or arrogant during an appearance on GMA’s Your Honor.
