Ellen Adarna Drops “Accountability” Message as Derek Ramsay’s Porsche Controversy Takes Another Turn

A cryptic message from Ellen Adarna has once again placed her in the spotlight as controversy surrounding estranged husband Derek Ramsay and his Porsche 918 Spyder continues to unfold.

Adarna recently shared an Instagram Story containing a message about “accountability,” prompting online users to wonder whether it was connected to the controversy involving Ramsay’s luxury vehicle.

She wrote: “Lack of due diligence? Poor discernment? Or just another excuse to blame someone else?” She then added that perhaps accountability would be “a refreshing change.”

Adarna did not identify anyone in the post or explicitly say that she was referring to Ramsay.

That distinction is important: there is currently no confirmation from Adarna that the post was directed at her estranged husband. The connection has largely been drawn by netizens because of its timing. Inquirer likewise reported that her cryptic message stirred speculation amid the ongoing vehicle controversy.

Why Ellen’s post is getting attention

The post came as Ramsay’s name remained at the center of a developing controversy involving his Porsche 918 Spyder.

The issue initially gained attention after the Land Transportation Office investigated the vehicle over an allegedly unauthorized or fake license plate. Reports identified businessman AJ Violago as the person driving the Porsche when the plate issue surfaced.

Ramsay later said he had never used a fake plate and accepted Violago’s apology over the incident.

In an interview published by The Philippine Star, Ramsay said he had been in Vietnam when Violago was apprehended while driving the Porsche. He maintained that he had never intentionally used a fake plate and said the vehicle had been with him for years. Ramsay and Violago subsequently went to the LTO, where the vehicle and their driver’s licenses were turned over in connection with the matter.

Derek Ramsay: “I am not a smuggler”

The controversy then took another turn when the Bureau of Customs became involved.

On August 22, Ramsay released a statement saying he was not a smuggler and had not personally imported the Porsche into the Philippines.

According to GMA Network’s report, Ramsay said he purchased the vehicle from JWorks and believed at the time that it was properly documented and tax-paid. He also said the vehicle had subsequently been registered with the LTO under his name.

Ramsay stressed that he purchased the vehicle in good faith and said he was prepared to cooperate with both the LTO and Bureau of Customs while authorities examined the matter.

ABS-CBN similarly reported that Ramsay denied violating the law and maintained that he had no involvement in the vehicle’s importation, taxation or registration beyond purchasing it in good faith.

The controversy grows beyond the license plate

What began as an alleged fake-plate controversy has now expanded into a separate issue involving the vehicle’s importation and tax documentation.

On August 24, ABS-CBN reported that the Bureau of Customs intends to issue a warrant for the seizure and detention of the Porsche, with the agency saying the vehicle could eventually be auctioned over alleged tax misdeclaration.

That development adds another layer to the controversy surrounding the high-value sports car.

However, allegations under investigation should not be treated as established wrongdoing. Ramsay has publicly denied being involved in smuggling and has said he is willing to provide documents and cooperate with authorities.

Is Ellen Adarna referring to Derek?

For now, that remains unconfirmed.

Adarna’s message did not name Ramsay, the Porsche, the LTO, the Bureau of Customs or any specific incident.

Still, the timing of the post has generated intense speculation online, particularly because Adarna and Ramsay have previously been the subject of highly publicized relationship issues.

The couple’s relationship has faced public scrutiny before, including allegations raised by Adarna in 2025. At that time, Adarna publicly discussed allegations of infidelity and later shared additional material online, while Ramsay responded to the controversy separately. ABS-CBN and Inquirer both reported on the dispute.

That history has made even an apparently general statement from Adarna capable of triggering renewed speculation.

But without a direct confirmation from her, attributing the latest message specifically to Ramsay would go beyond what is currently established.

What happens next?

The Porsche controversy is now being watched on two fronts.

The LTO-related issue centers on the alleged unauthorized plate, while the Bureau of Customs investigation concerns questions surrounding the vehicle’s importation and tax declarations.

Ramsay has maintained that he purchased the vehicle in good faith and has pledged cooperation with authorities.

Meanwhile, Adarna’s “accountability” post has added a fresh layer of intrigue to an already closely watched celebrity controversy.

For now, the biggest unanswered question may not be what Ellen meant—but whether she will eventually clarify who, or what, she was referring to.

And with authorities now taking further action involving Ramsay’s Porsche, the controversy appears far from over.
