MANILA — A condominium manager was wounded after two motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire on her vehicle along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City on Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2026.
The shooting happened at around 6:50 a.m. in Barangay Pio del Pilar as the woman was driving her SUV. Police said the two suspects approached the vehicle on a motorcycle and fired several shots before speeding away.
The victim suffered gunshot wounds to her leg and thigh and was taken to Makati Medical Center for treatment. Another report said the attackers fired at least nine shots at the SUV.
Witnesses reportedly told investigators that the gunmen were wearing uniforms associated with a motorcycle ride-hailing service. They fled immediately after the shooting, and their identities and motorcycle plate number had not been established at the time of reporting.
Police are investigating whether the attack may have been connected to the victim’s work as a condominium manager. Investigators are looking into possible disputes involving residents, management issues or other individuals who may have had a grievance against her. Police have stressed that the motive remains under investigation.
The shooting occurred on one of Makati’s busy thoroughfares during the morning commute, prompting police to examine available witness accounts and other evidence that could help identify the attackers.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the two suspects. Investigators are also expected to review available surveillance footage and other evidence from the area as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
No suspect has been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the shooting as of the latest reports.
The investigation now centers on identifying the motorcycle gunmen and determining whether the attack was specifically connected to the victim’s work or stemmed from another motive.
