SEOUL — K-pop soloist Chungha was taken to an emergency room early Friday after experiencing a health issue, forcing her to cancel a scheduled performance at Kyonggi University’s festival.
The singer was due to perform at Kyonggi University’s Seoul campus on September 18, but organizers announced that she was receiving treatment in the emergency room and would be unable to take the stage.
Her agency, More Vision, later confirmed the situation and said it was doing its best to support Chungha’s recovery.
Chungha Hospitalized Hours Before Scheduled Performance
Kyonggi University’s Tourism and Culture College student council first announced the cancellation on September 18, saying Chungha had been taken to an emergency room during the early morning because of a health problem.
The student council said she remained under treatment and that the planned festival performance could not go ahead.
The organizers apologized to students who had been waiting for the performance and said they were working with the artist’s representatives to find a replacement performer.
The student council initially said it expected to announce information about a replacement artist and any changes to the festival schedule before 2 p.m.
More Vision Confirms the Emergency-Room Visit
Chungha’s agency subsequently confirmed that the singer had been taken to the emergency room early that morning and was still receiving treatment.
More Vision apologized to Kyonggi University officials and students who had been anticipating Chungha’s appearance and said it would focus on helping the artist recover.

Chungha had additional festival appearances listed after the Kyonggi University event, including the KB Joy Olpark Festival on September 19–20 and the Objet K-Pop Festa on September 26–27, according to Korean media reports.
