CD PROJEKT RED Has 2 Secret Games in Development — But What Are They?

CD PROJEKT RED is keeping two major secrets under wraps.

The Polish game developer behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises has confirmed that it currently has two unannounced gaming projects in development, adding another layer of intrigue to an already packed production pipeline.

The disclosure came from Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz during the company’s post-earnings conference call, following the release of its first-half 2026 financial results. Reuters reported that the two projects are currently in the development phase, although CD PROJEKT RED has not revealed their titles, genres, platforms or release windows.

The revelation is significant because CD PROJEKT RED is already simultaneously working on several highly anticipated projects, including The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2.

Two mystery projects join an increasingly ambitious pipeline

As of July 31, CD PROJEKT RED had 519 developers working on The Witcher 4, which is targeting a 2028 release window. Another 184 developers were assigned to Cyberpunk 2, although the sequel currently has no announced release date.

The company also previously disclosed that multiple projects were being developed in parallel.

In its earlier financial disclosures, CD PROJEKT RED said it had several unannounced projects at various stages of development. The company’s fiscal 2025 report also identified its new IP, codenamed Hadar, as an internally developed project.

However, fans should not automatically assume that the two newly confirmed projects are Hadar, another Witcher title, another Cyberpunk game, or a completely new franchise. CD PROJEKT RED has not publicly identified them.

That uncertainty is precisely what has fueled speculation among fans.

The Witcher is entering another major era

While the mystery projects remain undisclosed, CD PROJEKT RED has already mapped out an unusually busy period for The Witcher franchise.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered is scheduled to launch on September 29, 2026. The company has also announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a new full-scale expansion scheduled for 2027, followed by The Witcher 4, which is targeting 2028.

Songs of the Past is particularly notable because it brings Geralt of Rivia back for another adventure more than a decade after the original The Witcher 3. The expansion is being developed with Fool’s Theory and is set in a new region called Letten.

The expansion has also generated substantial early interest. Reuters reported that approximately 900,000 players had added Songs of the Past to their wishlists within its first week.

CD PROJEKT RED says The Witcher 3 has now surpassed 65 million copies sold worldwide, while the entire Witcher series has exceeded 90 million copies.

Cyberpunk is also becoming a major pillar

The company’s other flagship universe continues to grow.

Cyberpunk 2077 has passed 40 million copies in sales, while its Phantom Liberty expansion has surpassed 15 million copies, according to figures reported following CD PROJEKT RED’s latest results.

Cyberpunk 2 is already deep enough into development to have a dedicated team of 184 developers, but CD PROJEKT RED has yet to announce a launch date.

The company is also expanding Cyberpunk beyond traditional video games, with licensing and other partnerships becoming an increasingly important part of its business.

Strong financial results give CD PROJEKT RED room to expand

The mystery surrounding the two projects comes as the company reports strong financial results.

For the first half of 2026, CD PROJEKT RED generated PLN 435 million in revenue, up 23% from the same period a year earlier. Consolidated net profit reached PLN 249 million, representing a 37% year-over-year increase, while net profitability stood at 57.2%.

Reuters reported that the result exceeded analysts’ expectations, with the company benefiting from continued sales of its established games as well as licensing activity.

The company also said it has already achieved 86% of the PLN 2 billion cumulative net-profit target associated with the first tranche of its 2023–2026 incentive program.

However, CD PROJEKT RED’s CFO also acknowledged that the company is unlikely to hit the PLN 3 billion performance condition for the second stage of its incentive program covering 2024–2027, based on its current release schedule.

So what could the two secret projects be?

For now, there is no official answer.

CD PROJEKT RED has deliberately kept the identities of the two projects confidential. Previous company disclosures show that it has been pursuing a multi-project strategy, with projects ranging from major games to its new IP initiative.

That means speculation about another Witcher project, additional Cyberpunk content, or the development of a new franchise should be treated as speculation rather than confirmed information.

What is clear is that CD PROJEKT RED is no longer relying on a single blockbuster release cycle.

With The Witcher 3 Remastered arriving this month, Songs of the Past following in 2027, The Witcher 4 targeting 2028, Cyberpunk 2 in development and two additional gaming projects still hidden from the public, the studio is building one of the most expansive pipelines in its history.
