BACOLOD CITY — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has staged what it described as its first-ever presentation of all uniforms worn by its personnel, giving the public a rare look at the different uniforms used by the city’s police force and the roles attached to each one.
The successful event, dubbed “Pasundayag ng Kapulisan,” was held on Friday, September 11, where BCPO personnel showcased their various uniforms and explained the functions associated with each attire.
More than just a uniform display
BCPO City Director Police Colonel Eugene Rebadomia said the activity was significant because it provided an opportunity to present the police force’s complete range of uniforms—including some that the public had not previously seen.
Beyond introducing the uniforms, the presentation was also intended to boost police morale.
According to Rebadomia, seeing police personnel properly wearing their different uniforms could also give their families a stronger sense of pride in their loved ones who serve the city.
The presentation effectively highlighted that police uniforms are not merely clothing but also represent the different functions, responsibilities and assignments carried out within the police organization.
BCPO leadership pushes stronger police service
The event comes as the BCPO continues efforts to strengthen police visibility, operations and public-service capabilities in Bacolod.
Rebadomia assumed leadership of the BCPO earlier this year after the reassignment of former city police chief Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica. Mayor Greg Gasataya had directed the new BCPO leadership to intensify police visibility and the campaign against illegal drugs.
The city government has also provided substantial logistical support to the local police.
In January, Bacolod provided additional equipment worth P3.1 million, including computers, printers and ammunition, to improve the BCPO’s administrative and operational capabilities.
The city also increased the monthly allowance of more than 1,000 local uniformed personnel, including members of the BCPO, BFP and BJMP, as part of its support for public-safety frontliners.
Police visibility also getting a technological boost
Bacolod’s support for its police force has extended beyond uniforms and equipment.
In April, the city government announced the acquisition of 10 electric vehicles worth P14 million for police operations. The vehicles are intended to improve police visibility, response times and operational efficiency while reducing fuel consumption.
The developments come as BCPO prepares for major security demands in the city. Just a day before the uniform presentation report, BCPO said it had requested 1,000 additional police augmentation personnel from the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region for MassKara Festival 2026, while around 800 BCPO personnel were expected to be deployed for festival security.
A showcase with a bigger message
For BCPO, the first “Pasundayag ng Kapulisan” was therefore more than a ceremonial display.
It gave Bacolod residents a closer look at the people behind the uniforms and the different responsibilities they perform while serving the community.
The activity also underscored the police force’s effort to strengthen its connection with the public while recognizing the support of the families of police personnel.
Rebadomia expressed appreciation to Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya, Lone District Representative Albee Benitez, stakeholders, and PRO-NIR Regional Director Police Brigadier General Rudecindo Reales for allowing the activity to take place.
As Bacolod prepares for another major festival season and continues to expand its public-safety initiatives, the message behind the unusual showcase is clear: every uniform represents a different duty—and behind every uniform is a police officer expected to serve the public with professionalism and responsibility.
