Advantech Targets NT$31.8 Billion in North American Revenue as AI Demand Accelerates

TAIPEI — Taiwan-based industrial computing giant Advantech is seeing powerful momentum in North America as demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure, edge AI and semiconductor-related equipment continues to expand.

The company is projecting that North American revenue could surpass NT$31.8 billion, highlighting the region’s growing importance to Advantech’s global expansion strategy.

The projection comes after a record first half of 2026. Advantech reported NT$46.51 billion in consolidated revenue for the first six months, up about 32% from a year earlier. North America represented approximately 29% of total revenue, making it one of the company’s largest regional markets.

North America Emerges as a Major AI Growth Engine

Advantech’s North American business grew 30% year over year in the first half, according to the company’s latest financial disclosure.

The company has identified AI infrastructure, medical equipment, semiconductor applications and edge AI as important sources of demand in the region.

Its second-quarter book-to-bill ratio for North America reached 1.92, meaning orders received significantly exceeded shipments during the period. Advantech said this reflected continued strength in demand across major markets.

That momentum is particularly significant as companies increasingly deploy AI beyond traditional cloud data centers and into factories, medical systems, retail environments and other industrial applications.

Advantech’s Bigger AI Bet

Advantech’s growth is not limited to conventional industrial computers.

The company said AI-related products generated a 250% year-over-year increase in sales during the first half of 2026, accounting for 22.5% of total revenue. Management expects AI-related products to reach roughly 30% of full-year revenue.

The company is also expanding into what it calls physical AI — systems capable of sensing their surroundings, processing information and taking action in real-world environments.

Advantech said it has approximately 150 robotics-related projects in its pipeline, spanning autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots and humanoid robots.

Record First-Half Results Give the Company More Momentum

Advantech’s financial performance provides the backdrop for its North American ambitions.

Second-quarter revenue reached NT$26.13 billion, a 46% year-over-year increase. Net income climbed 127% year over year to NT$4.52 billion, while earnings per share reached NT$5.20.

For the first half, net income reached NT$7.85 billion, up 66% from the same period last year, while operating profit increased to NT$8.86 billion.

The company said accelerating customer adoption of AI was a major factor behind the record results.

North America Is Not the Only Market Growing

Advantech’s expansion is occurring across several regions.

During the first half of 2026, revenue increased approximately 51% in China, 48% in South Korea, 30% in North America and 29% in Europe, according to company figures reported by the Taipei Times. Taiwan posted even stronger growth, while Japan recorded single-digit growth.

The geographic spread gives Advantech multiple sources of growth as industrial customers accelerate investment in AI and automation.

Supply Chains Remain a Key Challenge

The strong demand also comes with risks.

Advantech has warned about fluctuations in raw-material costs and continuing supply-chain pressures. The company said it has been working with strategic suppliers to secure critical components while using pricing measures to manage rising costs.

The company also said component availability remained sufficient for the third quarter but that it was working to secure supplies for the fourth quarter.

For an industrial computing company supplying AI and automation projects, maintaining component availability is critical: strong orders can translate into revenue only if products can be manufactured and delivered on schedule.

The Bigger Picture

Advantech’s North American target reflects a broader transformation in the industrial technology market.

AI is moving beyond the largest cloud platforms and into factories, robotics, medical systems, semiconductor production and other physical environments. Advantech is positioning its hardware, software and edge-computing platforms around that transition.

The company’s first-half numbers show how quickly that strategy is gaining traction, while its North American order momentum suggests the region could remain a significant contributor to growth.

If the company’s North American revenue projection of more than NT$31.8 billion is achieved, it would mark another major step in Advantech’s push to turn the current AI investment cycle into sustained industrial and edge-computing growth.

For now, however, the NT$31.8 billion figure remains a target or projection — not reported first-half revenue. The company’s confirmed first-half figures show a rapidly expanding North American business, but the full-year result will depend on orders, component availability and the pace of AI infrastructure investment through the remainder of 2026.
