MANILA, Philippines — Calling all fries lovers: McDonald’s Philippines is bringing its biggest celebration yet for its World Famous Fries, with McDo Fry Fest happening simultaneously at 64 stores across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on September 4, 2026.
The first-of-its-kind in-store event comes after the fast-food giant’s National Fries Day activities in July and the succeeding McDo FryDay celebrations, turning the chain’s popular fries campaign into a nationwide fan experience.
But there’s one important detail: the event is not simply a free-for-all for unlimited fries. Fans need to register, pay ₱330, and secure a slot at a participating branch.
Unlimited fries, games and a limited-edition pouch
From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on September 4, registered Fry Fest participants can enjoy unlimited servings of McDonald’s World Famous Fries, along with games and interactive activities.
Participants will also receive a limited-edition fries pouch, adding a collectible element to the event.
According to McDonald’s Philippines, registration is done through the Fry Fest QR code on the McDonald’s App, with slots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The company said registration runs through September 4, subject to available slots.
64 stores nationwide are joining the celebration
The event will take place across 64 participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.
The breakdown is:
- 50 stores in Luzon
- 6 stores in the Visayas
- 8 stores in Mindanao
That gives fries fans in different parts of the country an opportunity to join the same celebration simultaneously.
McDonald’s Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Ada Almendras-Lazaro said the event is intended to bring together the brand’s fries community after months of fries-focused promotions.
“Fry Fest is the culmination of that celebration,” Almendras-Lazaro said, describing the event as a gathering where fries fans can share their passion, create memories and celebrate what the company calls a nationwide movement of Fry lovers.
The fries campaign has been building since July
The Fry Fest follows McDonald’s Philippines’ National Fries Day celebration on July 10, when customers could get BFF Fries for ₱99 through the McDonald’s App.
The promotion was available nationwide for one day, with customers able to redeem it through dine-in, takeout, drive-thru and in-store ordering kiosks.
McDonald’s then continued the fries push with its McDo FryDay promotions. PhilSTAR Life reported that one of the Friday offers included BFF World Famous Fries plus two McFloats for ₱199, available during the promotional period.
The campaign has also extended beyond discounts.
In July, McDonald’s Philippines launched its “AI Wanna Taste It” campaign, using an AI-generated pop-star character named Chip to explore why people form emotional connections with its fries. Marketing-Interactive reported that the campaign deliberately used AI to emphasize the human experiences surrounding food, rather than presenting technology as the main attraction.
Why McDonald’s is turning fries into an event
The Fry Fest reflects a broader shift in how major food brands are engaging customers.
Instead of relying solely on price promotions, McDonald’s is turning a familiar menu item into an in-person community experience—complete with activities, collectibles and a shared event happening across multiple regions.
That strategy also fits McDonald’s extensive Philippine footprint.
The company has been expanding its nationwide restaurant network, with recent InsiderPH reporting putting its total at more than 860 restaurants. McDonald’s Philippines has also identified the Visayas and Mindanao as important areas for continued expansion.
