Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, the 21-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has officially removed “Pitt” from her legal name after a Los Angeles judge approved her petition on Sept. 28.
She is now legally known as Zahara Marley Jolie. Court records show the name-change petition was granted without objections after Zahara formally requested the change earlier this year.
Zahara had already been using the Jolie surname publicly before the legal change. At her graduation from Spelman College in May, she was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie, and she had previously used the name when joining the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in 2023.
The legal change makes Zahara the third of Jolie and Pitt’s six children to move away from the “Jolie-Pitt” surname. Shiloh legally changed her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie in 2024, while Maddox Chivan Jolie’s name change was approved earlier in September 2026.
Another sibling, 18-year-old Vivienne, has also petitioned to remove “Pitt” from her legal name. Her court hearing is scheduled for November 2.
Jolie and Pitt share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. The couple separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce in December 2024 after years of legal proceedings.
Zahara’s legal name change follows years in which several of the siblings have increasingly used Jolie rather than the combined Jolie-Pitt surname in public and professional settings. The latest court ruling formally makes that change part of Zahara’s legal identity.
