A white Hyundai Ioniq 6 allegedly cut across three lanes of Commonwealth Avenue before colliding with another vehicle and leaving the scene, according to dashcam footage and a report shared online.
The incident reportedly happened on Sept 19 at around 4.50pm. The footage shows the Hyundai emerging from Stirling Walk and moving across multiple lanes of Commonwealth Avenue.
A vehicle travelling along the road can then be seen braking hard and swerving in an apparent attempt to avoid the Hyundai. The two vehicles appear to make contact, after which the Hyundai continues driving without stopping.
The driver who submitted the footage said the Hyundai had turned out from Stirling Walk and allegedly crossed three lanes before the collision. A police report was subsequently made over the alleged hit-and-run.
Singapore Police Force guidelines state that a traffic accident report must be lodged when an incident involves a hit-and-run, among other circumstances.
Police had been contacted for information on the case, but details about any injuries, damage and whether enforcement action has been taken were not immediately available.
The footage has since drawn attention to the dangers of sudden multi-lane manoeuvres, particularly on busy urban roads where other motorists may have little time to react.
