Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the government’s communications team wished the President good health and protection as he continues his work for Filipinos.

The Philippine News Agency reported that the Palace framed its birthday wishes around Marcos’ health and his continued efforts to pursue priority projects for national development.

Marcos’ birthday also comes just days after the anniversary of the birth of his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., who was born on September 11, 1917.

According to the Daily Tribune, Marcos described his father as the person from whom he learned some of his most important lessons in life, including the values of duty, honor and service to others. The President also spoke about his father’s connection to Ilocos Norte and his devotion to the country.
