TABACO CITY, ALBAY — What began as another chapter in the competitive journey of a Bicolana beauty queen has turned into a historic international breakthrough.
Margarette Siat Briton, a native of Tabaco City, Albay, has been crowned the first-ever Miss Interglobal 2026, giving the Philippines the inaugural crown of the newly staged international pageant.
Briton captured the title during the pageant’s coronation night in Bali, Indonesia, on August 30, 2026, defeating candidates from more than 50 countries and officially becoming the first woman to carry the Miss Interglobal crown.
Her victory was celebrated by ALV Pageant Circle, which described her win as a historic moment for the Philippines and praised her for showcasing the beauty, confidence and strength of a Filipina on the international stage.
Briton did not just win the crown—she collected major awards
Briton’s victory was reinforced by an impressive haul of special recognitions throughout the competition.
Aside from the main title, she received the:
- Star Connect Award
- Social Impact Award
- National Costume Excellence Award
- Dinner Dress Award
Her strong showing across several portions of the competition helped establish her as one of the standout candidates in Bali.
Reports from the competition also noted Briton’s early success, including a Best Arrival Award, while pageant coverage documented her appearances among the leading contestants in fashion, evening gown, national costume and other preliminary segments.
From Bicol pageants to the international spotlight
Briton’s historic victory becomes even more notable when viewed against her recent pageant journey.
Before winning Miss Interglobal, she competed in Miss Grand Philippines 2025, where she finished first runner-up to Emma Mary Tiglao of Pampanga.
That result, however, proved to be far from the end of her international pageant ambitions.
Instead, Briton received another opportunity to represent the Philippines—this time at the inaugural Miss Interglobal competition.
Her story is therefore one of a pageant comeback: from narrowly missing a national crown in 2025 to becoming the first woman in history to win Miss Interglobal a year later.
A proud Bicolana with a growing pageant résumé
Briton’s pageant résumé already included several regional titles before her international breakthrough.
Reports identify her as a native of Tabaco City, Albay, and a graduate of San Jose Community College, where she earned a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree major in English in 2022.
She previously won Miss Kaogma Tourism 2024 and Mutya ng Cagsawa 2025, while also placing third runner-up in the Search for Daragang Magayon 2023.
Her background gives added meaning to her latest achievement: the Bicolana queen has steadily moved from regional competitions to the national pageant scene and now to the international stage.
Her advocacy adds another dimension to the crown
Briton’s Miss Interglobal campaign was not solely about fashion and presentation.
Pageant-related reports said her advocacy centered on child protection against sexual abuse, a message that reportedly made an emotional impact during the advocacy portion of the competition.
That focus also aligns with Miss Interglobal’s stated emphasis on beauty with a broader purpose, including culture, tourism, advocacy, leadership and global unity.
For Briton, therefore, the new crown represents more than another title—it gives her an international platform from which to promote causes important to her.
A new chapter for Miss Interglobal
Briton’s victory also carries significance for the pageant organization itself.
The 2026 competition was the inaugural live staging of Miss Interglobal, making the Bicolana queen the first titleholder in this new international chapter. Coverage of the organization traces Miss Interglobal’s earlier roots to a virtual competition before its transition to a physical international event in Bali.
Indonesia’s Nabila Fenelia finished first runner-up, while Australia’s Nicole Missios placed second runner-up, according to pageant reports.
With the inaugural crown now secured, Briton becomes the face of a pageant entering a new era—and her victory gives the Philippines a prominent place in that history.
From almost winning to making history
Perhaps the most compelling part of Briton’s story is what happened between her national pageant setback and her international triumph.
In August 2025, she stood just one position away from winning the Miss Grand Philippines crown. One year later, she was no longer chasing someone else’s title.
