SINGAPORE — A major new outdoor adventure campus on Coney Island is set to open in the second half of 2026, marking a significant expansion of Singapore’s efforts to build resilience, confidence and stronger bonds among young people.
The new Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) Coney Island campus is expected to play a key role in eventually allowing all Secondary 3 students to take part in the Ministry of Education’s outdoor adventure programme.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has also highlighted the importance of building a strong, cohesive society and giving Singaporeans opportunities to grow through shared experiences.
And for thousands of students, the new campus could soon become the place where some of their toughest — and most memorable — school experiences begin.
A Major New Campus for Singapore Youth
The new OBS campus on Coney Island will become the organisation’s third major campus, joining its existing facilities on Pulau Ubin and the East Coast.
Construction began in June 2021 after years of planning, with the project forming part of Singapore’s wider push to expand outdoor adventure education.
When operational, the new campus will significantly increase OBS’ capacity to run programmes for students.

Singapore aims to progressively expand the MOE-OBS Challenge so that all Secondary 3 students can participate by 2030.
In 2025, around 18,000 Secondary 3 students from approximately 90 schools took part in the programme, representing about 65 per cent of the cohort.
The new Coney Island campus is expected to help close that gap.
