Singapore COE Prices Rise Across All Categories as Category A Hits Record S$133,009

SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement premiums rose across all five categories in Singapore’s first bidding exercise for September, with Category A reaching a new record high of S$133,009.

The latest results saw prices increase across the board, with motorcycle COEs recording the biggest percentage jump of the exercise.

Category A sets a new record

Category A premiums rose by S$4,508, or 3.51 per cent, from S$128,501 to S$133,009.

The result marked a new record for the category and the first time Category A has crossed the S$130,000 mark.

Category A covers smaller and less powerful cars, including electric vehicles that meet the category’s power limits.

Larger car premiums also climb

Category B, which covers larger and more powerful cars, increased by S$4,000 to S$135,001.

The 3.05 per cent increase pushed the premium further into six-figure territory as demand for larger vehicles remained strong.

Commercial vehicle COEs rise above S$93,000

Category C premiums for goods vehicles and buses increased by S$3,099 to S$93,101.

The 3.44 per cent increase continued the category’s elevated pricing trend seen throughout much of 2026.

Motorcycle COEs record biggest jump

Category D, which covers motorcycles, recorded the largest percentage increase among all categories.

Premiums surged by S$1,255, or 11.11 per cent, to S$12,556.

Motorcycle COE prices have remained above S$10,000 since the first bidding exercise in July, reflecting the continued high cost of securing a motorcycle in Singapore.

Open category reaches S$137,890

Category E, the open category that can be used for any vehicle type except motorcycles, rose by S$2,890 to S$137,890.

Although it recorded the smallest percentage increase of the five categories, Category E remained the most expensive COE category in the latest exercise.

LTA urges buyers to remain prudent

The Land Transport Authority said COE prices remained elevated following the three-week interval since the previous bidding exercise.

Buyers and motor dealers were urged to bid prudently as premiums across all categories continue to stay at historically high levels.

The bottom line

Singapore’s COE premiums climbed across all five categories in the first September 2026 bidding exercise, with Category A setting a new record at S$133,009.

Category B rose to S$135,001, while Category E reached S$137,890. Motorcycle COEs saw the sharpest percentage increase, jumping more than 11 per cent to S$12,556.

The latest results underline the continued pressure on Singapore’s vehicle market, with buyers now facing record or near-record COE premiums across nearly every category.
