SINGAPORE — Iman Fandi is taking her music ambitions far beyond Singapore.
Just days after performing before a massive National Day Parade audience at home, the 26-year-old Singaporean singer, actress and model found herself on a very different stage in California — at an invitation-only music event headlined by hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.
Iman performed at Superstar Among Friends: Broadus Together on Aug. 15, 2026, at The Compound, Snoop Dogg’s private studio and creative space in Inglewood, Los Angeles County. The event was presented through TikTok Live Premiere and Death Row Records.
But Iman was not simply there as a guest.
She used the Los Angeles showcase to make the international debut of her upcoming single, “It Is,” which is scheduled for release on Aug. 21.
The appearance potentially represents another important step in Iman’s transition from a familiar Singapore entertainment personality into an artist increasingly positioning herself for an international audience.
From Singapore’s National Day Stage to Snoop Dogg’s LA Compound
The timing made the appearance particularly striking.
Only six days earlier, on Aug. 9, Iman performed “Giants” at Singapore’s 2026 National Day Parade. The song was written by Singaporean musician Weish and forms part of this year’s official NDP music programme.
Then came Los Angeles.
At Broadus Together, Iman joined a lineup that included members of Snoop Dogg’s family and artists from across the American and international music scene.
CNA reported that performers included Snoop Dogg’s son Corde Broadus, also known as Kalvin Love, his daughter Cori Broadus, Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter Ylona Garcia, R&B singer-songwriter Jane Handcock, soul singer Charlie Bereal and actor-singer O’Neal McKnight.
The Straits Times additionally reported the involvement of The Lady of Rage, Snoop Dogg’s wife Shante Broadus and other performers connected with the Broadus family and Death Row ecosystem.
The production itself was also international.
According to The Straits Times and The Star, the event was co-produced by Gushcloud International, alongside Cordell Broadus, Death Row Games and Boss Lady Entertainment. It was designed as a gathering of artists, creators, brands and entertainment-industry figures centred on live music, culture and community.
More Than 1 Million Reportedly Tuned In
Iman later shared photos and video from the event on Instagram, describing the experience as a career milestone and expressing disbelief at having shared a stage with Snoop Dogg and the other artists.
She also said that more than one million viewers tuned into the livestream.
CNA similarly reported that posts from performers put the livestream audience above the one-million mark. Because the figure comes from artist and event-related social posts rather than a publicly released TikTok analytics report, it is best described as a reported audience figure rather than independently verified viewership.
Iman also revealed a more personal detail about meeting one of hip-hop’s most recognisable figures.
Asked by a follower what Snoop Dogg was like in person, she described him as “super nice” and “super tall.”
“It Is” Could Be the More Important Part of the Story
Sharing a stage with Snoop Dogg naturally generates attention.
But from a career perspective, the debut of “It Is” may prove more significant.
Rather than performing only established material, Iman used an American showcase connected with TikTok, Death Row Records and Snoop Dogg’s entertainment circle to introduce unreleased music ahead of its worldwide release.
The single arrives on Aug. 21, less than a week after its Los Angeles debut.
That comes during a year in which Iman has already gained substantial international recognition.
In May, Forbes named her to its 2026 30 Under 30 Asia list in the Entertainment & Sports category. Forbes said she began her music career in 2021 with Universal Music Singapore before becoming an independent artist and preparing new music for release in 2026.
Forbes also reported that her debut single “Timeframe” surpassed 1.1 million Spotify streams, while her first independent single, “Tip Toes,” had accumulated hundreds of thousands of views and streams by the time the list was published.
A Singapore Name Trying to Become an International One
Iman has long carried one of Singapore sport’s most recognisable surnames.
She is the daughter of football legend Fandi Ahmad, but her career has increasingly developed along a separate entertainment path spanning modelling, acting and music.
The Los Angeles appearance therefore matters less because of her family name and more because of where her own career appears to be heading.
An NDP performance placed her in front of one of Singapore’s biggest domestic audiences.
Days later, the Snoop Dogg event placed her alongside American and international artists in an industry-focused Los Angeles setting, while simultaneously introducing a new original single to a global livestream audience.
That does not automatically mean an American breakthrough is guaranteed, and there has been no announcement that Iman has signed with Death Row Records or entered into a formal music partnership with Snoop Dogg.
What can be confirmed is that she is increasingly appearing in spaces well beyond Singapore.
And with “It Is” arriving on Aug. 21, the bigger question is no longer simply how Iman Fandi ended up on a stage with Snoop Dogg.
It is whether that stage was a one-night milestone — or an early glimpse of the international career she is trying to build.
