Batangas Is Getting a New ₱7-Billion Beachfront Destination — What DMCI Resorts Is Bringing to San Juan in 2027

Batangas is preparing to welcome a major new beachfront destination as DMCI Resorts moves closer to opening Solmera Beach Park Resort, an integrated leisure and events development designed to bring family vacations, seaside relaxation and large-scale gatherings together in one location.

Located in San Juan, Batangas, within the 7.5-hectare Solmera Coast beachfront estate, the upcoming resort is targeting a February 2027 opening.

Developed by DMCI Homes and operated by its hospitality arm, DMCI Hospitality and Leisure Inc. under the DMCI Resorts brand, the project aims to attract both domestic travelers and corporate groups looking for a destination that combines accommodation, recreational facilities, dining and event venues.

The development comes as Batangas continues to attract visitors seeking beach destinations within driving distance of Metro Manila.

Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional beach holidays, Solmera Beach Park Resort is designed around a broader concept: allowing guests to enjoy vacations, family activities, business conferences, weddings and celebrations without having to move between different venues.

More than 4,000-square-meter pool complex among resort highlights

One of the development’s biggest attractions will be its pool complex, which is planned to cover more than 4,000 square meters.

The facilities are expected to include a lap pool, kiddie pool and pool pavilion, providing options for different age groups and recreational activities.

Guests will also have access to elevated facilities at the Matahari Building, including a Sky Deck Pool and Sky Promenade, offering views of the surrounding coastline and mountain landscape.

Other planned recreational facilities include landscaped gardens, open lawns, lounge areas and cabanas.

The resort’s design aims to accommodate different types of visitors, from families looking for child-friendly activities to couples and groups seeking a relaxing seaside escape.

Resort accommodations designed for families and groups

Solmera Beach Park Resort will offer several accommodation categories, including studio units, one-bedroom suites and two-bedroom suites.

These options are intended to accommodate couples, families, friends and larger groups attending corporate functions or social events.

The development will also feature dining establishments across the property.

Planned food and beverage options include an all-day dining restaurant serving Filipino and international cuisine, a specialty restaurant featuring Filipino classics and fusion dishes, and a flexible roof deck restaurant with breakfast and bar offerings.

Additional outlets will include a lobby bar, snack bar and food kiosks.

Spa and wellness facilities are also part of the planned resort experience.

A major convention centre puts Batangas on the MICE tourism map

Beyond leisure and accommodation, one of Solmera’s defining features is its investment in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) facilities.

The resort is designed to accommodate corporate conferences, business meetings, training programs, exhibitions, weddings and other large social gatherings.

Its main convention centre is planned to feature a function hall measuring approximately 2,096.5 square meters, complemented by a 935.5-square-meter veranda, according to DMCI’s October development announcement.

Additional event facilities will be spread across different buildings, including roof deck venues, function rooms, landscaped lawns and outdoor gathering spaces.

These facilities are intended to give companies and event organisers an alternative to conventional hotel and convention venues in Metro Manila.

The resort’s combination of accommodation, dining and recreational facilities could also make it suitable for multi-day corporate retreats and destination celebrations. DMCI Homes+2

DMCI’s ₱7-billion investment reflects bigger tourism ambitions

Solmera Beach Park Resort is part of a broader development strategy by DMCI Homes to expand beyond traditional residential properties and establish a presence in the leisure and hospitality industry.

In an August 2026 report by Manila Bulletin, DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria disclosed that the company had invested approximately ₱7 billion in the Solmera Coast development.

The report also highlighted the company’s plans to tap into San Juan’s growing appeal as a destination for both leisure travelers and corporate events.

The resort will be managed by DMCI Hospitality and Leisure Inc., which is responsible for establishing the operational systems and hospitality services needed to run the property.

The company has also identified the potential for the project to generate employment opportunities and business activity throughout the surrounding community. Manila Bulletin+1

Local businesses and workers could benefit from the development

The resort’s potential economic contribution extends beyond the property itself.

According to DMCI Homes, the project is expected to create demand for local suppliers, transportation providers, tourism partners and hospitality-related services.

The company is also exploring partnerships with local government units, educational institutions and TESDA-accredited organisations to support hospitality training, internships and workforce development.

Potential employment opportunities could cover several areas, including:

  • Hotel and resort operations
  • Food and beverage services
  • Housekeeping and maintenance
  • Recreation and guest services
  • Events and conference management
  • Security and administration
  • Engineering and technical operations

DMCI has indicated that qualified local applicants will receive priority consideration while maintaining professional hiring standards.

If implemented successfully, these initiatives could help connect the resort’s expansion with livelihood opportunities for residents of San Juan and neighbouring communities. DMCI Homes

Better road connectivity could strengthen Batangas’ tourism appeal

Another factor that could benefit Solmera and other tourism developments in Southern Luzon is the ongoing development of South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4 (SLEX TR4).

The expressway project is expected to improve connectivity between Batangas, Laguna and Quezon, potentially making travel to destinations in the region more convenient.

In an October 27 update, DMCI reported that TR4 Package A had reached 47.28% completion as of September 2026, while Package C had reached 96.86%.

The company said the relevant sections were targeted for completion by the end of 2026.

Improved accessibility could encourage more weekend trips, family vacations and organised group travel from Metro Manila.

For San Juan, the combination of improved transport infrastructure and new hospitality investments could help broaden its tourism market beyond traditional beach visitors. DMCI Homes+1

  • Website: Solmera Beach Park Resort

Prospective guests should confirm room availability, opening arrangements, amenities and booking conditions directly with the resort.

A new chapter for Batangas tourism?

Solmera Beach Park Resort represents DMCI Homes’ ambition to combine beachfront leisure with a more extensive hospitality and events offering.

Its planned pools, accommodations, restaurants, wellness facilities and convention venues could appeal to a wider market than traditional beach resorts.

For Batangas, the development also comes at a time when domestic tourism, infrastructure improvements and private-sector investments are creating new opportunities for provincial destinations.

Whether Solmera will establish itself as a major destination for both leisure and business travel will ultimately depend on its operations, guest experience and ability to deliver on its development plans.

With February 2027 approaching, one question remains: Could DMCI’s ambitious beachfront project help turn San Juan into one of the Philippines’ next major destinations for both seaside holidays and corporate events?
