SINGAPORE — American cinnamon roll chain Cinnabon is officially leaving Singapore, with its final outlet at ION Orchard set to close on September 22, 2026.
The closure marks the end of Cinnabon’s latest chapter in Singapore, just over three years after the popular bakery brand made its return to the city-state. Cinnabon announced the decision through its social media channels, thanking customers who had supported the brand through countless cravings, catch-ups and celebrations.
One Last Bon for Singapore Fans
Cinnabon’s ION Orchard outlet is now the chain’s only remaining store in Singapore. The brand confirmed that the outlet will continue operating until September 22, giving fans a final opportunity to enjoy its signature cinnamon rolls before the ovens go quiet.
The company described the closure as the end of its Singapore chapter and invited customers to share “one last Bon” before its departure.
A Comeback That Lasted Just Over Three Years
Cinnabon had previously operated in Singapore before exiting the market in 2002.
The American bakery chain returned in February 2023, opening its comeback outlet at Raffles City Shopping Centre. It expanded to ION Orchard later that year before opening a third location at Jewel Changi Airport in 2024.
But the expansion did not last.
Both the Raffles City and Jewel Changi Airport outlets closed earlier in 2026, leaving ION Orchard as the brand’s final Singapore location. Its closure will now bring Cinnabon’s entire Singapore operation to an end.
A Tougher Environment for Singapore’s F&B Industry
Cinnabon’s departure comes as Singapore’s food and beverage sector faces a challenging operating environment.
Singapore Business Review reported that F&B services sales declined 1.9% year-on-year in July, with food courts and other eating places recording a 6.6% decline, while café sales fell 6.4%.
The figures highlight the growing pressure facing food businesses as they compete for customers in one of Asia’s most competitive dining markets.
However, Cinnabon has not publicly cited the broader F&B slowdown as the reason for its exit.
From Expansion Plans to a Full Exit
When Cinnabon returned to Singapore in 2023, the brand had ambitious plans for growth.
Its local master franchisee had reportedly envisioned building the chain to as many as 10 outlets within five years, including potential smaller-format stores and expansion beyond central Singapore.
Instead, all three of its Singapore outlets will now have closed within a little more than three years.
The ION Orchard branch will be the last to go.
